This mod adds custom races to the game based on races from the various Stargate television series. At present it includes the Ancients, Wraith, Asgard, Goa'uld and the Ori.
Ancients:
A race that uses larger, more powerful ships to compose the basis of their fleet. You will have a fraction of the number of ships in your fleet but many of them are more comparable in power to a capital ship for other races than to a frigate. Ancient capital ships are immensely powerful and include the fabled Atlantis city ship. They are also able to build Space Gates that allow near instant travel between planets, allowing them to easily shift their fleet resources as needed.
Wraith:
A race whose ships do not have shields but who compensate with increased hull points, armor and regeneration rates. They have a wide selection of cruisers of varying power but only one type of capital ship, Hives, which are the heart of their fleet.
Asgard:
A race whose ships focus on shields and mobility. Asgard vessels and structures have low hull point scores but all have shield points. While they may not have dramatically more shield points than other races, their shields are superior in mitigation factors and mitigation build-up, with multiple research entries for improvements. The Asgard fleet employs no strikecraft but makes up for the lack thereof with superior anti-fighter weaponry on various ships and structures and a notable advantage in mobility. Sublight and hyperspace engines are highly advanced and provide superior mobility in both local gravity wells as well as interplanetary & interstellar travel and the Asgard empire tree provides numerours upgrades which provide further mobility advantages.
Goa'uld
A parasitic race who pose as gods to their subjects. A powerful economy and formiddable diplomatic and cultural tools combine to make them a force to be reckoned with. They may only have a handful of frigates and cruisers but most serve several functions. Powerful capital ships anchor their fleet and complete their tools for conquest.
Ori
An offshoot of the Ancient race founded on fanatical belief in ascended beings who call themselves the Ori. Governed by the Priors, living beings empowered by the Ori to impose their will, the followers of Origin are empowered by the the vast knowledge of the universe that their ascended overlords possess. The Ori fleet is composed of a full compliment of ships varying in size but all very powerful. Even the smallest frigates are protected by powerful shields and the massive capital ships are capable of engaging entire enemy fleets by themselves as they spread Origin across the universe or destroy all those who refuse to submit to the will of the Ori.

any maps that go with this i lost my huge-single and huge-multi somehow would like a pegasus galaxy type map but sant seem to find any... ideas?
No, no maps are included with this mod.
I have a few new screenshots for everyone to (hopefully) enjoy.
Ancients Battlecruiser (based on the model Thoumsin posted) with solid textures:
A trio of Ancient ships:
The battlecruiser has image based textures (sourced from the original model) in this pic and I believe I will leave it like that as it improves visibility. The ship on the far right is a new model for the Dirou Destroyer. The ship in the middle is obviously the Ancients Aurora class and the model was done by Dewing some time ago. That Aurora model may or may not be what ends up as the final Aurora model.
He Dolynick
When are you going to place these ships in a new mod, i hope pretty soon because these ships makes your mod better and better.
Regards Jorgen
Hi Dolynick
Your link stargate Ancients 1.11 the file of 161mb is broken, i cannot download the file.
when can we see a possible update to the game???? (with new models on board)
Just a wild guesstimate will do!!!!!!!!
Also, can u use .7zip like dan and a couple of others use..... it's compression ratio is a little higher than just .zip and that means filefront won't remove yours......
Which the links in your orginal post are now not linked to the dl page of filefront....
Yeah something is up with file front i cant download any of your files.
Well, given that 1.14 was released and has mod breaking issues in it... I may do an updated release when the 1.14 forge tools (and reference data) are released. It'll be too much work to remove the new models from the build version so that release will most likely include whatever models are in place at that time.
I have 7zip but I dislike it. I'm not sure why filefront has removed those files on me, it had no issues with any of the other files I have hosted there (older versions, etc) that are about the same size anyways.
Just another little teaser...
The mostly (more or less) finished Atlantis:
It's solid textured but looks pretty good anyways. Drones fire upwards from the deck as you can see in the pic. A drone swarm is being fired in the screenshot but what is pictured is not the maximum amount of drone that can be launched in one volley. The Atlantis pictured is not leveled up and there simply aren't enough targets available for a full volley in this shot.
LOOKS AWSOME
gulp!
also, is Atlantis armed with Rail Guns as well, or only drones?
Look great... the solid texturing is enough... maybe just work a little on the da map for add some light to the numerous building tower...
Hmmm, pirate ship look big when compare to the city...
Great work !!!
PS : in place to wrote Ancients Battlecruiser (based on the model Thoumsin posted) with solid textures, maybe you can wrote Ancients Battlecruiser ( based on the model from Davide Sandon ) with solid textures... this guy is the creator of the original model... try to make the same for the ship from the other package ( little one )... I don't earn any credit with these model... they are not my work...
Archaon,
Atlantis is armed with drones, beam weapons and lasers. You can see the beams and the muzzle flashes from the lasers in the pic as well. Drones (and swarms) are by far it's most fearsome weapon though.
Thoumsin,
I would love to get the buildings done up better on the Atlantis but texturing it is going to be a nightmare and I'm not sure if I will get to it in the forseable future or not. I think my time would be better spent getting more ship models in place right now. If I can find an easy way of adding some lights to the buildings then sure I will try but isolating all the towers and texturing them could take weeks given how many there are.
As for the size of Atlantis... It's as big as I can make it in XSI. Mod Tool will only show you about a 1500m width section before it starts cutting the view off and Atlantis is almost 1450m across as it stands. I have not found a way to increase the work area in XSI yet so it's going to have to stay that size for now. Making it too big might start to make it look strange as well as it will start to be disproportionately large compared to planets.
As for credit on the Ancient Cruiser, don't worry. I was planning on creditting David_sd for the base model as that's the poster's name on Sci-Fi Meshes. Thanks for providing the last name though, I may use that instead now. Credit for the Atlantis model will go to SGA-3D. I used your name above simply because you were the one who pointed the model out and I thought it would make things clearer in the thread.
There is a program that i use to resize mesh files, but you have to be careful with the mesh points, sometimes they move... I'll pm the link to you.
Dolynick,
No problem... complex texture can be build later, once your code is all finish, all your models finish and you have some free time, you can always come back and work on it... if you wish, you can send me the file in .obj format... when i have some free time, i can work a little on it...
As for the size of Atlantis...
About size, don't worry too much... in 7DS for the empire, we was almost obligate to size down all big ship... reason was that they clutter in a strange way in place of stay in formation... of course, it is not probable that someone will be able to build a fleet with 100 atlantis city... it is already enough difficult to have the first one...
As for credit ...
Thanks... i find very important that the right people are credited for their work... i am myself a modeler and i will not like that someone other take credit for my own work... hey, we work for free, fame is all we have...
Speaking of credit for David_SD...
I couldn't resist and just had to give converting this into Sins:
It turned out pretty well:
As you can see, it turned out pretty well. The poly count is a little too high but I did my best to cut it down without tossing out too many of the nice details on the hull. The original is about 1.15 million triangles. My finished conversion weighs in at around 30k triangles. The Battlecruiser, for comparison, came it at 20k triangles after going through the cutting room. Both seem to work well in game, but I haven't had a chance to play a game with large fleets to see how things go when you have a dozen of each in play. Hopefully it will be alright despite the highish poly counts.
Apologies to Dewing though. He already submitted a nice model for the Aurora but I just had to try anyways. I'm comparing the two models though and maybe I can use the old Aurora for another Ancient ship if it's different enough. Of course, if this Aurora proves to be too much to use in game then the old version may yet stay in place.
Download link doesnt work
Yes, I am aware of the issue. There has, however, been a new patch released that breaks compatibility with mods under the new version. I have not reposted the old version yet as I expect to have to release an updated version that is compatible with 1.14. Unfortunately, I am still waiting on the 1.14 reference data (forge tools) to be released before I can update the mod for 1.14. Hopefully they will release updated files soon.
I will not use 1.14 until the new numerous problem are fixed... these patch add more problem that it resolve... maybe 1.15 or other future version will be good but 1.14 is bad news...
dude...everything looks freakin awesome like really good nice job can't wait wish i could do this sort of stuff
What problems exactly?
I mean, I expect there to be problems with Galaxy Forge, Particle Forge and the Dev Mode until they release updated versions of those as well. I haven't heard of any problems aside from that type of thing.
For the record, I'm still running 1.12 as I apparently missed the 1.13 patch. Heh.
just an idea for an atlantis abilty. put itself on a planet and buff its health and defense? while its there gets increased health regen and shield regen buffs ship build time just an idea...
does atlantis look kinda akward in the cap ship factory?
and do jumpers look like jumpers?
if im being a pest just tell me im curious
Dolynick, have you included Mansh00ter's Volumetric Explosions in this? Would make blowing up Hiveships so much cooler.
Aside from that, the new models really add that extra bit of "awesome" to this mod. Hopefully you can get at least one full race in soon so we can have fun blowing completely new ships up.
Atlantis already has a full compliment of abilities. They're Colonize, Drone Swarm, Expand Shields and Onboard Stargate. Expand Shields allows it to protect an entire fleet with it's massive shield point supply. Onboard Gate allows it to act as a mobile phase stabilizer node for the rest of the Ancient fleet. All around, it has a very powerful set of abilities.
It does dwarf the capital ship factory but aside from making a massive factory model (which would dwarf all other capital ships built there) not much can be done about it.
We do have a model for jumpers compliments of Dewing. It's not perfect but it's working well enough for the moment. Basically it could just use a little texture work, some minor mesh improvements and some weapon/exhaust points added. Like strikecraft though, they're so small and rarely seen well enough that it's not high on my "to touch up" list at the moment. I believe Dewing mentioned a while back that he was going to revisit the jumper model himself at some point too.
Yes I plan to revist the jumper model, it was something i designed when i first started... so it was a little rough.
Hey I'm completly fine with you using the other Aurora model... it'd be cool to incorprate both if you could. I did a little work to the original model, and cut it down quite a bit, which i know you're more than capable of doing, but it's a lot more friendly in bigger fleets, and it looks just as good!
Awesome mod but someone recognize that both download links are not working?
