This mod adds custom races to the game based on races from the various Stargate television series. At present it includes the Ancients, Wraith, Asgard, Goa'uld and the Ori.
Ancients:
A race that uses larger, more powerful ships to compose the basis of their fleet. You will have a fraction of the number of ships in your fleet but many of them are more comparable in power to a capital ship for other races than to a frigate. Ancient capital ships are immensely powerful and include the fabled Atlantis city ship. They are also able to build Space Gates that allow near instant travel between planets, allowing them to easily shift their fleet resources as needed.
Wraith:
A race whose ships do not have shields but who compensate with increased hull points, armor and regeneration rates. They have a wide selection of cruisers of varying power but only one type of capital ship, Hives, which are the heart of their fleet.
Asgard:
A race whose ships focus on shields and mobility. Asgard vessels and structures have low hull point scores but all have shield points. While they may not have dramatically more shield points than other races, their shields are superior in mitigation factors and mitigation build-up, with multiple research entries for improvements. The Asgard fleet employs no strikecraft but makes up for the lack thereof with superior anti-fighter weaponry on various ships and structures and a notable advantage in mobility. Sublight and hyperspace engines are highly advanced and provide superior mobility in both local gravity wells as well as interplanetary & interstellar travel and the Asgard empire tree provides numerours upgrades which provide further mobility advantages.
Goa'uld
A parasitic race who pose as gods to their subjects. A powerful economy and formiddable diplomatic and cultural tools combine to make them a force to be reckoned with. They may only have a handful of frigates and cruisers but most serve several functions. Powerful capital ships anchor their fleet and complete their tools for conquest.
Ori
An offshoot of the Ancient race founded on fanatical belief in ascended beings who call themselves the Ori. Governed by the Priors, living beings empowered by the Ori to impose their will, the followers of Origin are empowered by the the vast knowledge of the universe that their ascended overlords possess. The Ori fleet is composed of a full compliment of ships varying in size but all very powerful. Even the smallest frigates are protected by powerful shields and the massive capital ships are capable of engaging entire enemy fleets by themselves as they spread Origin across the universe or destroy all those who refuse to submit to the will of the Ori.

All are Manifest friendly. Verified to work with Volumetric Explosions and Bailknights for Entrenchment. Priority order, top to bottom: 1) SG-Races, 2) PlanetSize, 3) FleetSize, 4) Volumetric, 5) Bailknight's.
If you are using SGGalaxy then you may stack it with the FleetSize mod as follows: 1) SGGalaxy, 2) FleetSize, 3) Volumetric, 4) Bailknight's.
**Note: It may be necessary to reduce game effect settings to "high" from "highest", especially when using Volumetric Explosions and Bailknight's graphic effects in conjunction with SGRaces or SGGalaxy. It may also be necessary to edit your user.setting file and increase the MaxParticleCount setting (default value is 6000).

On ahother note I've pretty much finished a model of the Alkesh, and now I'm working on the Apophis mothership now.
Dolynick, I relized that i have a top down picture of the Goa'uld space station you were talking about, if i can find a side shot of it, it won't be too hard to make.

This mod is compatible with SoaSE 1.1 or later. My guess is that you are running 1.05 as that is the error you typically get when you try to run a 1.1+ mod on 1.05.
I'll have to find the episode that had the station in it and try to get a few screenshots of it for you.
My plans for Akkan's models... I know I have successfully imported most of them into XSI and have workable versions now. I have about 20 model candidates waiting to be worked on though so my memory is a little hazy on exactly which ones are his. I recall that one of them I was considering as a capital ship for the Asgard or possibly the Ancients (the last pic of the 4 he posted). The second model he posted would likely make a good Ancients candidate as well. If I recall, at least one of his models was fairly high in poly count though, so it will take some work to cut it down a bit. I just have quite a backlog of ship models to go through right now so I have no ETA on any particular model at the moment.
I think the episode you're talking about is the one with Replicator Carter where she kills the system lords. It also shows up in another episode before that, but I can't remember which one that is... Hope that helps.
No, it's the episodes where the System Lords have a summit and Daniel goes in under cover as Yu's servant. It's in the Osiris/Annubis phase of the series.
I have SG-1 seasons 1 thru 8 so i could take a look, it shouldn't be too hard to find... it's just a little surprising there aren't more pictures of it around.
As far as I can recall, it was only featured in the two episodes for that story line. I do not recall the episode titles off hand but one may be called "Summit". Season 6 or so I believe.

I've already got a Ra mothership model on the go (I have for some time, it was the first one I started to build on my own) so I will likely just finish up mine. It's already at about the same stage as your is judging by the pic so I will likely just, eventually, finish it up with any extra details I decide to add. The other three are all on the list of still needed though so great job.
The one thing I question about those models is the pyramids. They should be straight edged should they not? I do not recall the pyramid portions of the Goa'uld ships flaring out like that.
As for textures, if you send me the .xsi files I should be able to import and do some basic textures for them myself so no worries.
I'll send you the files a little later.

With Ra's mother ship, I watched the stargate movie to get it right, when it flies it's a flat pyramid, when it lands it's flares out like that.

Thanks. The latest release version is linked in the thread post. There is no ETA on a new release at the moment but the next release will contain a number of new custom models for the various races. The vast majority of development time is currently going into modelling right now.

The Apophis Mothership Prototype is almost finished... this is what i have so far.
For all of those who look at the ship in the show, you'll notice it looks different. You have to understand that the ship was unfinished, so i built it to what i thought the finished product would look like.
its nice to see you adding some new ships to the mod which is great if you plan on adding to entren i recommend changeing some of the starbases mostly Tec " in the mod "epic mod" he greatly enlarged a tec military structure into a starbase which i find looks 100 times better than the current" something like this would be a great eye candy imo.

This is in no particular response to anything, just commenting on modding in general.....
While nice to see the pretty new mods based on series that we know and love, its much better when they play in ways that complements the game that they are being converted into, and are balanced and all the fun things that make a game fun.
i.e. A Starwars mod for Sins....the models are gorgeous. The fanboy in me enjoys running around with Star Destroyers.
Gameplay....is iffy. There's little to no balance, no real new coding (just some good ol' fashion starwars 'pew pew' sound fx), no change to research, and everything is pretty much acceptable. It's not exactly as mature as I feel this mod is, just "prettier" with its new models.
I'd much rather prefer great gameplay/balance(Say....like I find in this mod? ) and then the pretties.....
Though, those screenshots of what's to come are gonna kill me with anticipation!

btw is atkantis or ragnarok colossues going to be debuffes cos they really powerful
lvl 10 atlantis has bout 10k health and 40k shield with drones that do 610 apiece
lvl 10 colossus is prob less imbalanced cos it needs 400 supply but still needs to be dialed down a lil bit
not trying to be negative or anything just trying to give u ideas for improving the balance of the races
I have no plans currently to change them. I'm not going to say that their balance is "perfect" but their costs and stats were not just arbitrary things either and some math was involved to arrive at the current stats/costs.
They are both very powerful ships, especially when leveled and teched up. Both are also intended to be game changing ships, or more specifically as is the case with the Ragnarok, end game vessels. Neither is untouchable though, as I've had both destroyed on me by AI fleets when I was not paying careful enough attention.
Same here... You can build a lot of Wraith hive ships very quickly, which i've defeated Atlantis with. I also seem to be able to build a few Invictus Juggernaughts pretty quickly.
But at the same time you can build a lot smaller capital ships very quickly to counter the Colossus and Atlantis. Personally i do think that stats are fine... we just need a new model for the Colossus.
I have a design for the Colossus in the back of my head waiting to be made. I'm busy with the Ancient Cruiser model that Thoumsin posted last page though right now. I've got the poly count down to about 1/50th of the original high poly version and it still looks fantastic. I hope to get it textured and finished up soon.
i belive he took the military building for the military upgrades an simpley enlarged it but now it looks 100 times better than what is currently used. Since theres windows satalites all lit up looked great. only way to know is to take a look ill send you the link in a pm
