Greetings Modders,
Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are pleased to announce the release of the Forge Tools for Sins of a Solar Empire v1.05. To download the updated package, just head over to the Downloads section.
New for v1.05 is the release of the Particle Forge tool. Ironclad used Particle Forge to create all of the various weapon fx and other shiny fx for the game.
Happy Modding!
I'm guessing the answer is no to this but is anyone able to mod the most recent version of sins? Impulse did a auto update to v1.09 on me and of ocurse no mods work. All I wanted to do is add some hangar space on the orbital hangars (2 is just plain dumb) but opening dev tools only gives a large number of line errors (assuming since it was made for up to v1.05). SO is it possible to mod the most updated version and if not is it going to be possible to mod v1.1, v2.0 or whatever the version number is gonna be once it finally does come out?
Cobrattack, did you ever find an answer to your question? I have the same issue.
Thx
Yes, it's just a matter of IC releasing the reference files. That will probably happen in a similar timeframe to the final 1.1 release.
For those that want to continue using mods in the meanwhile, if you disable the show prerelease versions option in Impulse's preferences and reinstall, you can go back to 1.05.
It's pretty cool that Sins of a Solar Empire wants people to participate in modding the game. Thanks for the great tool Sins developers! Can't wait to see the many new *special* effects coming out.
how do i put the new planets on a map im making from like the ocean map or even the military planet and so on
I Dl'ed it and all it does is launch Sins like its a windowed version of the game. How can I edit ships and stuff?
I just want to swap abilities between two ships and dont know how to use this tool to do it.
You dont actually use the tool to do that.
In the download is the original data files converted into text. You create a mod directory in the right place, copy the original game files in, then edit the text files you want to change and then copy them over the original ones in the mod directory. Then load the mod before playing.
