I decided to write an AAR to demonstrate how difficult it is to manage the Yor's economy as is. Things didn't go as planed. As I have been doing since ascension victory was added to the betas, I would test to see if it was working since it wasn't working when it was first released. Suffice to say, I was too busy fighting the Drengin, and later the Korath to pay much attention to what I was doing economically to show you guys. As such, anything that I mention about my economy is more of an after thought after I won.
Despite the fact that I didn't note the problems as I played the game, I found defending my ascension crystals from the very beginning of the game till the end an interesting change of pace, one that I decided to share. The settings I used were:
-All victory conditions on.-Default game options, except for blind exploration, which is on.-Except as noted, all galaxy settings set to common.--Minors races were disabled, and asteroids were set to Abundant.--Number of planets and stars were set to abundant.--Star density was set to loose.
My overall objective was to not to spend any points on anything that would provide a direct bonus to the Yor's economy (such as economics, or morale). I wanted to show their economic problems instead of trying to cover them up. As such, I spent the points to mostly boost my military with the odd point thrown into creativity.
I picked 4 other civs and set them to tough. They were the Drengin, Korath, Torians, and Arceans.
----------------I hope you enjoy the read.
Can you guys guess where I started getting bored (and thus creative) in my write up?
