Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .
Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.
7 Deadly Sins is:

New classes of ships: Frigate -light armor Destroyers -medium armor Cruisers -heavy armor Battlecruisers -very heavy armor, 2 to 3 weapon banks for anti-cruiser, destroyer and frigate duty Capitalships -capital armor Dreadnought -capital armor, incredible firepower and durability Titan -capital armor like Dreadnoughts, possess doomsday weapons
New Area Affect Doomsday Weapons TCA Beta Kol Graviton Doomsday Imperial Executor SSD Shield Overload Atlantian Avatar Stellar Converter (beam with damage to all in path) Triad of Creation -Lapis Blackhole Generator and Spatial Compressor Wormhole Weapon
New Special Abilities Rogue "Assault Pods", The Machine "Assimilation" for capturing capitalships, TCA armor plating unlocked by research for greater tanking, TOU "Oppression Aura" that reduces enemy firepower, Arilou Obliterator "Ion Cannon" disabling Starbases, Arilou "Mxyzptlk Array" with time disrupting "Quasi-Bomb", Triad of Creation "Nosferatu" and "Ghoul" energy siphons that do damage, and More!
New classes of strikecraft squadrons and Capitalships/Dreadnoughts/Titans with fixed number of Squadrons Cruiser Squads of 3 strikecraft Capital Squadrons of 6 strikecraft; largely used by Hangars Titan Wings of 9 strikecraft; also used by Starbases
Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.
12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.
Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection. TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.
TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan. The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan. Ship research boosts weapon performance.
DARK FLEET- modified Vasari The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey. Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.
Imperial Armada- from Star Wars Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer. Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.
Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery. Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships
Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.
Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.
Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.
Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods) The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.
Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.
Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

Please register there, and I will grant you all the permissions you need and should have had in the first place.
Email me once it is done, and I wil activate it right away.
Xanthos,
I was unaware any part of the old site was still in effect. I will look into that right away. Please log in using the link I just posted.
BTW - Beta 2 will be out this weekend. HUGE improvements...
I'm happy
Yeah, the official Beta 2... I think I'm at Beta 4 for all I've been doing. Scratch at least Beta 3 for all his staged fixed. So Dan's got a ton of files and fixes in addition to a new texture optimization for decreasing mem load.
Awesome on the update there--looking forward to the fixes.
Question what is the entity file for "1 New Super Massive Black Hole - at the center of some solar systems"? I have been wanting to add it to a map so I can see it and where is DeadlyForge?
Thanks--nuthin' sez luvin' like crushing the galaxy as a maxed out Atlantean.
DeadlyForge? Super massive Singularity? Pwee-ease?
Deadly Forge is just Galaxy Forge with our GalaxyScenarioDef file instead of vanilla GSDef.
Yeah--don't have the icons though and I am lazy.
And which entity is the supermassive black hole?
That would be Microsoft.
Hahahaha.
Sinperium,
We'll see what we can do to update the Deadly Forge.
On another note.
7DS 2.5 BETA 2 has been released for premium users. The non-premium area should be updated tonight with the Beta 2 as well.
So much has changed, a total download is required of the whole mod, so this is not a patch.
I will download it tonight then
thanks
Thanks, if I get motivated enough I could work up some icons. Adds new thing "to do" to stacks of list on his desk.
And cool on the update.
Thanks for the hard work!
I had been looking forward to trying your mod, DANMAN, I really did.
I was a fan of the original back in 7DS 2.1.
Obviously the mod does not work at all on my cutting-edge (at least in 2010, a then high-end gamer's laptop of the ASUS Republic of Gamers specialty brand, I know it has an Intel Core i7 and NVidia Geforce GTS 360M among other high-end stuff that makes it run as if it were a reasonably-priced desktop machine for such). I cannot get it to work and I lack the patience to just sit there trying to get a mod to work that simply doesn't.
Unfortunately my only available x86 machine, a Vista laptop, though with a Intel Core Duo processor, is still vastly inferior for the job and still minidumps every time. So, sadly, I will likely never play 7DS version 2.5 at least in its current state at least for what version of SOASE it has been engineered specifically for.
I am disappointed that this is the case, and regret being unable to play the game. But until there is a surefire workaround for the minidump with the hardware I have - as I simply do not wish to be spending more money on old computers, as finances are somewhat tight for me at point in this time (despite me being in Australia - go figure).
However, even without playing 7DS 2.5 personally and just taking word from others I can imagine you would have done a very good job trying to manage all that content in such a limited environment, so I can say well done for that. I'm just getting a case of the green-eyed monster, so just ignore me if that's your inclination.
EDIT: In case you're wondering why I have the fancy gamer's laptop, let's just say having a father who works on the oil rigs locally (for reference, in Bass Strait, which is between mainland Australia and the island of Tasmania) pays for itself sometimes, especially when you're in the good books with him. It was a nice birthday present last year and it still is appreciated - a lot. That is all.
Crion,
What OS are you running? If it is Win7 64bit, then that is the problem. Also, the new BETA 2 may solve your issue, so look for the announcement of the public release later on today.
I also have a custom built, top of the line rig. Built it myself over time with parts I ripped from other machines and donations by friends of mine and connections I have at my job. Out of pocket I spent about $150.
AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition Oc'd to 3.6ghz (can go to about 4.3 without breaking a sweat) - awesome processor for the money.
Corsair H20 Liquid cooling
16GB of 2000mhz RAM
2 AMD RADEON 5770 vid cards in Crossfire
1TB 5400rpm Seagate HD (for storage)
2 60gb SSD drives - for the games and OS
800W Ultra power supply.
Antec 902 Gaming case with about 7 fans for cooling. This baby gets hot!
This is my dream machine, and took me years to get it all together. I am running Win7 64bit Ultimate, and I have problems running the mod in the current release. You have to run the game several times before Win7 will let it run. So just keep trying. With the new BETA 2 release, this problem seems to go away. So don't give up, and thanks for the kudos. The whole DMG team deserves it.
My computer is actually just a gamer's laptop but a standard rig for that sort of thing, not a custom job. Still plays games like Borderlands and Fallout 3, among others, very well (1920 by 1080 in the game Borderlands with the graphics at full and plays just as well as XBox 360 if not perhaps a little better, does the same in Fallout 3 except I might need to find an external fan I could put under the laptop since it overheats playing that). So I'm happy with it.
In any event, the next beta version should see me get back in the saddle. I'll make some kind of review or something then. You guys still get an A+++ for effort though.
No problem, just remember it might be a Win7 thing.
On another note, I just wanted to say thank you to all the fans and followers out there, and to all the DMG members that have stuck by me all these years. ALL of you guys....ROCK. I just had to say it.
Thank you so much for your fanship, and for all your hard work to those who help out and contribute to the mod. I could not have done anything without you guys.
THANK YOU!
Beta 2 has been released in the FREE download area of the DMG website.
Have fun
Me go there now. Me happy.
already downloaded about to try it out
I enjoyed your mod very very much and i am incredibly happy that it didnt minidump 1 minute into the game
just a couple quick questions
whos model is the assassin class ship? ive seen it in dolynick's mod i just wasnt quite sure whos it actually is
and why are the pirates so incredibly powerful i brought a super destroyer to the planet thinking it would be enough cuz it was incredibly powerful and it was destroyed in a minute
were they designed that way so that they could never be destroyed?
Beta 2--this is a second version of the one released a few weeks ago, yes? It's for 1.2?
Still shows the same file name in free section downloads is why I ask.
Pirate Bases are nothing to mess about with. Take an overwhelming force against it and blow that Titan out of orbit. Watch out for 'The Machine', it's the fully operational version of what Hammersun was working on -it captures capitalships if you get in range and there are 3 of the buggers in orbit -Yeah, blame me, I did the GSDEF.
If you take a small force of non-capitals in against a 'The Machine' that happens to be planted near the phase-lane, jump in a flotilla of anti-module ships to nuke them or if Rogue, then capture them with the AFG's. You can also, if 'The Machine' are set far out, use carriers loaded with bombers to take them out, but again nuke that Titan before it levels to 6 when it can launch Warhammer Drones.
Trust me, nothing hurts worse that having a L10 Kol Beta with fully Doomsday or L10 SSD with Shield Overload captured by 'The Machine'.
Rogue are some evil bastard and for a good, if not undisclosed, reason, but they aren't unstoppable/unbeatable. They love their battlecruisers and I'll be buggered if I don't run into a fleet with 40 of them soaking damage.
Arilou will get meaner and I'm redoing the KzerZa tech tree, the old was filler. Taalo Rock! literally, they are just fun and now have research that slips some damage right through the shields. KohrAh are still just plain evil. TCA, Empire, and Atlantians seem to be favorites, but they die just like the rest -it just takes some careful doing. Dark Fleet, still tough. TEC, well, they got the money and can hire mercs. TOU are still what they were, space hippies seeking nirvana and the destruction of the TEC/TCA.
Glad everyone is enjoying it and keep playing!
Dunno why but based on what happened to them in Star Control II, I think the Taalo would have become some kind of omnicidal maniacs, given the Orz *chasing* them in *Pretty Space*. In my interpretation, given the horrific nature of what the Orz possibly are, I'd say the Taalo have been stuck in a hell-dimension like that in the movie Event Horizon - either they became evil from it, or they are just plain infuriated about having to have hid there for so long (I will leave that to the individual to look up what I mean by an Event Horizon type thing via Google).
