Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection. TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.
TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan. Ship research boosts weapon performance.
DARK FLEET- modified Vasari The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey. Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.
Imperial Armada- from Star Wars Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer. Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.
Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery. Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships
Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.
Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.
Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.
Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods) The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.
Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.
Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

First, "Thoumsin" is my real name... not some fantasy nickname for hide my real identity...
Second, it is a old french-italian family name who mean "all saints"... in middle age, it was writed "toussaint"... due to a family move in a dutch speaking regio, "saint" have become "sint"... with time shorten to "sin"... my name have nothing to do with English language...
Finally, i have not start the fight... a guy who make a first post on these forum for attack certainly seek a counter reaction... somebody who the first word ever writed is sh!t certainly own the nickname of a$$...
Maybe they (the mods) should find someone who isn't absolutely terrible at managing their (DANMAN3712) ~business~ to host their work.
Mainly, the mods themself are hosted elsewhere... but it is/was a working place... where asset ( modeler, texturer, coders, etc ) was shared between several mods... 7DS was one of the mod there but the real goal was to have a place made by modders for modders where everybody help each other...
This time, the site was not shutdown due to a management mistake... from the host, the site was put down due to a vague reason... they found the site to be a "security issue"... true that in the past, we was sometime victim of attempt DOS attack but in no way, the management is responsible from other people being a$$hole...
A other thing... you critic Danman but these guy have give us a room for work, all pay from his own wallet... on your side, what do you have make for the modding communauty ? Nothing !!! Of course, making nothing cannot lead to make mistake... you are like some player who post non constructive critic or complain about mod... they have make nothing, receive everything for free but in place of thank, they critic modders who have work hard and for free during a long time...
What works for you does not work for us.
Nurture your own mod along for 2 years, 7 months, 1 day; develop painstakingly 10 distinct races, give your vision 2.5GB of eye/ear candy, have it downloaded well over 50,000 times (that was just for a year), be the mod that showed with Sins of a Solar Empire in Google for months, then get that shutdown because of some internet wanker like yourself who loves nothing more sit at the free public library computers throwing around handfuls of envious crap at people who have done what your feeble little mind could never imagine.
Despite hosting issues, mod work continues. We thank you for your feedback, appreciate your concern, hope you download the mod when it reaches beta, and rip a zipper.

I think I have the correct version of SoaSE (version 1.051)but for some reason I keep getting minidumps for some reason. What I am doing wrong?

Says the guy who's been signed up on the forum for 2 years and has 4 posts. I've seen better constructed criticism then that, this is all I will say on the matter... In fact, you need to learn new strategy with each of the races... The rogues have no colony ship by example... AI will not be able to play these race correctly but a human player will adapt... Problem is in the AI who is cannot be modded...
Some complain about the Atlantian being to much strong... again, need to adapt and seek/destroy their research lab... who are low priority in case of a AI player...

We work the same way that several other mod here... first create the entity structure, and adding moddels after... for 7DS 2.5, there will not be a lot of change in the amount of races but a lot of "place holder" sins model will be replaced by new original models... several new abilities created... and more

Have already happen for 7DS 2.1 with ICO... recently, i have "recruit" a new playrester who own 2 or 3 LAN system for test 7DS 2.5 in multiplayer LAN party...
Stick "by Danman" on everything [x]Far to be true... it happen that we don't always agree with the choice Dan make but in so situation we discuss about it... by example, recently, Dan have wish to make a public release of the 7DS 2.5 alpha and have start a topic about it asking what we think... i have dissagree because there is some last critical bug who need to be resolved and advice waiting the first beta before a public release... but if the majority of the guys ask for a release, it will follow the majority...
In fact, you cannot know all who happen on our forum... several part of it are hidden to usual people... guest can only see the introduction post of the various mod hosted, members can see a little more, playtester have a specific section who reveal to them... mod dev/leader have their own section too... and a tiny section is reserved for partner/admin... being a moderator there, i have access to everything and i see what happen in the backroom
The real problem is to make critic about thing that you don't know... you don't know 7DS 2.5 since only mode dev/leader and playtester have access to it... you know only the years old 7DS 2.1 ... you don't know Danmangame forum and how we work because you are not part of the mod teams...
More problematic is your attitude... if something don't please you in the mod, simply make a post and ask more info about it... if for some technical reason, it is not possible, we will explain it... if you make a constructive critic and that several other player make a similar one, it is very possible that the mod will be adapted for please the majority of player... but making post who are nothing more that a attack will lead to nothing...
Loving how some of these changes look, it's been a while since I've looked into any Sins mods as I rarely play Sins these days.
Gotta say I love all the races added and the fact that there's no specific theme followed (like star wars or wing commander ect) but that a bunch of races from different worlds are thrown in there.
I've also noticed at least 3 or 4 ship models that were taken right out of X3 (as far as I can tell anyway) which is cool to me, loved X3 and there's some nice ship models in it. Maybe at some point in the future you could add in a race from the X universe and duplicate all of the ship models for it? Xenon would be fun. (though you'd have to fudge a lot of structures and support ship models since they have like none)
All in all exciting news to see and I eagerly await a public release.
BTW, Forums are back up. Guess that's another point for 7DS.

A fresh announcement from Dan :
Sorry for the interruption of the website and forums over the Halloween weekend, but it was necessary. Quite frankly, the host shut us down until we made some security updates and improvements, which we did over the weekend. Also, I made some improvements to our downloader system as well. As such, we will be switching over to the new downloader, which is on the new version of the site, on a full time basis relatively soon when all the files have been transferred over. If any of you have signed up for full membership, those memberships WILL be transferred over, however a new password will have to be assigned, since the system encodes them so no one knows what they are, for security reasons and to keep personal information safe.
Now about how think was planned to work before... mod can always be download for free... in fact, it will be somehow illegal to ask money for a mod... the paying thing is related to the download itself, in some way like rapidshare and other place like it work... usual download speed for free, high speed download for paying members... for these who know it, the Nexus system work in a similar way ( i am a pay member of the Nexus related to Dragon Age origins )... on the Nexus, being a pay member allow me to download mod at 2-3 mb/s on a UK private server ( i am european ) in place of the free US server at 50-70 kb/s...
These who don't wish pay will always be able to download but at the slow speed like before... but these who don't wish wait hours for download mod from a few hundred mb ( if not gb ) can choose for the pay version... again, it is nothing different to the numerous site called "free host" that you can found on the internet... all of them have a "gold", "platinium", etc membership who allow high speed download...
More information will be given by Dan at a later time, when everything will be ready...
By the way, pay membership will not only lead to more speed but to bonus:
The new downloader also has many new sections that will be available, and many of the "bonus" materials will soon be made available to the full members, as well as multiple versions of the mods we support. This is also where any full games that we support or develop will be available for download.
I don't know a lot about it but i know that a flash game is in development by Danmangame... Impulse automatically installs 1.191
du4l, the ONLY way to get sins 1.05 is find a sins DVD, install the dvd to a different directory, then locate on the web the sins 1.05 patch/bonuspack, and install that.
