TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.
TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan. Ship research boosts weapon performance.
DARK FLEET- modified Vasari The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey. Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.
Imperial Armada- from Star Wars Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer. Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.
Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery. Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships
Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.
Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.
Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.
Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods) The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.
Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.
Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

7 Deadly Sins, a Danman Games Production/Mod for Sins of a Solar Empire by IronClad/StarDock.
I'm sorry, I got this game about two days ago so I'm a bit new to this. I heard of the 7 Deadly Sins long ago, and I've been itching to try it. I have version 1.165 of SoaSE without Entrenchment; is there any version of 7DS that I can run?
Maybe check again your version number first... if the game is on disc, you will be able to upgrade to 1.05 without Impulse... with Impulse, it will be upgrade to 1.181 directly... so, if you have buy the game two days ago, there is no way that you can have a 1.165 version !!!
About 7DS... the last final official release is the 2.1 for sins 1.05 ... several alpha release was made for the 2.5 but you need Entrenchment...
Well it was store bought, I simply gave what it said at the bottom of the game. It said v1.165 after I hit get game updates a few times; I wanted to play without some of the bugs. Would I need to reinstall then?
Yes, you will need to install a second copy of the game, in a completely different location. It would be best howver if you totally removed the current one first, install the game again, then rename that version to Sins 1.05 for reference. Then reinstall the game again, and update that version if you want to have two versions of the game.

Just an update, so far I have not heard from Maxsim since last week about our forums. Sadly, he is the only person with a copy of the backup. Since little warning was given, no one else was able to make a copy before the site went down. So, worse case situation, we will have new forums, but with either 6 month old data, or brand new from scratch. I will take a vote on that, and go from there. I am still hoping Maxsim comes through though.
With all this going on, I could not concentrate on the Alpha, which I have been trying to get out before the holidays. I am still trying to get it out ASAP. It may go without a few things, just it get it out there. It is only missing a few ships, one being the brand new Sa-Matra Starbase for both the Kohr-ah and the Kzer-Za. Hopefully I can get it in. I hope you all had a nice holiday.

@Rezo- the mod data is all still intact (that's on Dan's personal comp I think). He meant the forums are not up.
@Doomgiver3- it isn't working because on the 20th, there was scheduled server maintenance; at the same time, they decided to migrate to their own server.

And seriously, why change something who was working... i don't need some fancy flash or java... i need a fonctional site who work with both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox... in fact, not something like these forum...
And really, i don't understand how something like this can happen... since the backup on http://danmangames.com/forums/index.php was setup in June... why he was not keep synchronise with the original ? A daily sync and the max data loose was 24 hours...
And remember, i have say that something like this was a bad idea, specialy in the end of year holiday !!!
A other thing, try to retrieve the PM... i have some of them who are important for 7DS... like contact information of potential translator...
I'm afraid 7DS just isn't working for me; I place it in the mods folder, it shows up in the game menu, and I click enable, but I can't find any changes; I can't find any of the new factions at all. Even a fresh install shows the game version at 1.165, is it because its the collector's edition release? Would 2.5 help, and if so, is there a working link somewhere? Dan's site says "No Permission to Access File" every time I try.
@Thoumsin- does the lack of synchronisation of the mirrored forum mean that I will have to re-register? And, will all of my PMs be lost?

Hey, i've been having a problem getting this mod running.
I downloaded it and extracted it to my mods folder, but when i try to activate it, the game freezes. I'm running all the latest versions of sins and entrenchment, so i don't think that could be the problem.
I usually wait about 5 minutes before i force quit the program and try again. should i wait longer, or am i doing something else wrong?
Boys, when you have problem with the mod... please, write the mod version and your sins version in your post... for info, 2.1 is for sins 1.05 ... last 2.5 alpha G is for Entrenchment 1.041 ...
If the game freeze when you enable the mod, it is usualy because you have not the right version of sins... or because you have a sins version from Kalypso ( problem with the language file )...
If you are able to ennable the mod but you have nothing from the new material/races, check your mod folder... it have already happen that people have nested directory... by example, with a "mod/7DS/7DS/gameinfo/...", it can be activated but you will have nothing... it need to be "mod/7DS/gameinfo/..."
For the 1.165 version problem... start Impulse and check for update... 2.1 will not work with 1.165 ... and 2.5 alpha work only with the last version of Entrenchment...
If it work for thousand of people, it will work for you... we can help to resolve YOUR problem only if you give us more info...
By the way, never put all graphic setting on very high ( max )... it crash the game... if you have slowdown or crash after sometime, check if you have the minimum requested configuration for 7DS... specialy about the ram...
I don't know... and Danman don't know too... only Maxsim know ( i hope ) but since the shutdown, we have no info...

All i know, if the forum don't come back or comeback to a state from Juni, i am done with 7DS... have spend hours and days on wiki, tutorial, etc... since Juni, i have maybe make 2000 post... all gone...
I loved this mod before but, I updated my comp and now the mod website says forbidden whenever I try to get a file!! Cone someone put a link to the newest file up please.

It is down but a new one is being set up but will take some time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had safe and Happy Holidays for those of you who celebrate them.
I wanted to give you all an update of progress and any issues currently at hand. As you all know, our forums went down almost suddenly without notice, and we are currently faced with losing 6 months of posts/work. A complete backup was made by the old web master Maxsim, however he has been very unresponsive at best, and is slow to get us the backup. The good news is that all the forum files, all the attachments, files, layout and such were all loaded via FTP by Maxsim, however he is still holding the tables, which are the heart and soul of the SMF (forum) hostage. These tables contain all the members, posts, layout arrangement of boards, etc. Basically all the raw data of the forum. Until he gives me these tables, we will still be working with a 6-8 month old backup. Since I was not informed that the forums would be literally shut off and lost, I did not personally make a backup myself, or this would have been averted. In the case that we never get this information, I would like your feedback and opinions on what to do. Should we wipe the forum clean and start fresh, or continue from the old data?
Now for some good news. I am almost done with the latest 7DS Alpha. The holidays and the forum issue has held me back, but now I am going at a nice clip with some help. I am also looking into a new way of distributing the Alpha through Live Sync, which would make any change I make on my end, instantly available to all playtesters who are in the program.
I have also recently started giving advice to the Star Gate Invasion and the Sins of Angels 2 (Star Trek mod) teams, who are now both run by a member of the 7DS mod team, so in effect, the Star Gate Team and Star Trek team are now working together with us. If any of you wish to help out these teams, please let me know so I can forward it on. Bruno Thoumsin (Fileosoft) has also become a member of the B5 team, let’s all wish them luck and give them any help they need to get their mod done.
Chris Whiting (FourAces) has recently submitted his Dragon Age mods to PC Gamer, and we will be featured recently (maybe even front cover) in an upcoming issue. This will bring a lot of press to DMG, and hopefully a lot more people playing and contributing to our ever growing team.
Lastly, the DMG site is going through major renovations. There are two versions being developed, one for high end users and one for low end. Both will feature a new log-on program that will let users log in with a username and password, and then select the mods or files they want to download.

What about the wiki ? I have something that we can call a backup... text file with the markup tag and several of the pictures... but it is almost one year old... and only page that i have done, or correct/edit ...

Other mod who was enough active but we have not hear since the forum was down is the Halo mod, where a release was planned between end December and begin January... or the Evil Tesla pirate mod... for the Empire, i have keep contact with scratch via e-mail and continue work on the starbase golam4... that you will certainly not include in 7DS due to the 32 mesh ( 5 visual upgrade ) and 3 more mesh for rotating part...
But if the 7DS forum don't come back ( the 6 month backup is not working correctly, no room for attach picture ), i will need to choose one of the mod who will survive... and it will be the B5 mod...Lastly, the DMG site is going through major renovations. What do you call "low end" and "high end" ? If by high end, you mean a forum like these one, with a lot of fancy but numerous "forum go boom" or other thing related to "pigeons"... where a lot of function don't work with Firefox... where the search engine have never work, where you copy and paste microsoft word text in a post and the topic cannot more be see by the Microsoft explorer...
DMG site and the forum are working place who need to work correctly and fast... don't need what people call "high end" who don't work half of the time... give us a fast, simple, secure and functional low end !!!
Alright... I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to entrenchment and now the link for the mod is not working on danmangames.com... I'll comb through this thread in hopes of finding a link to the 2.5 release but... can someone please post a good link somewhere in case I can't find one?

As far as I can tell, the wiki and everything else has been saved, so all that hard work you did we still have, it is just all the last 6 months of activity, including new members, boards, and actual posts that we don't have, and Maxsim has right now. If you got my email, you should have his email. He is not responding to me emails, maybe if you send him a friendly email, he might get back to you.
I would hate to lose you, or anyone else due to the forum being gone, lost, or taken back 6 months, especially after all the hard work we have all done. However, I cannot stop anyone from changing teams or projects. My only hope is that everyone bears with me/us through this process, and that if we cannot restore the lost info, that we can all work together to recreate any of the critical information.
To everyone else trying 7DS or trying to download it:
The links are a little messed up right now with all the server changes we are making. Also, 7DS 2.1 only works with Sins version 1.05. If you have the new version, or Entrenchment, you will need the latest Alpha version of 7DS 2.5.
If you want to be a playtester, email me at danman3712@gmail.com. We will be implementing the LIVE SYNC to distribute the Alpha for testing, in this case when I make a change, you will all get the changes when you connect to the internet.
