Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .
Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.
7 Deadly Sins is:

New Area Affect Doomsday Weapons TCA Beta Kol Graviton Doomsday Imperial Executor SSD Shield Overload Atlantian Avatar Stellar Converter (beam with damage to all in path) Triad of Creation -Lapis Blackhole Generator and Spatial Compressor Wormhole Weapon
New Special Abilities Rogue "Assault Pods", The Machine "Assimilation" for capturing capitalships, TCA armor plating unlocked by research for greater tanking, TOU "Oppression Aura" that reduces enemy firepower, Arilou Obliterator "Ion Cannon" disabling Starbases, Arilou "Mxyzptlk Array" with time disrupting "Quasi-Bomb", Triad of Creation "Nosferatu" and "Ghoul" energy siphons that do damage, and More!

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.
12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.
Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection. TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.
TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan. The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan. Ship research boosts weapon performance.
DARK FLEET- modified Vasari The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey. Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.
Imperial Armada- from Star Wars Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer. Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.
Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery. Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships
Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.
Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.
Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.
Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods) The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.
Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.
Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

7 Deadly Sins, a Danman Games Production/Mod for Sins of a Solar Empire by IronClad/StarDock.
Having the same problems as the posts before me. Mini dumping at the loading screen very near the end. Saw the opening sequence and really nicely done. Gets you in the mood so to speak. I know after the teams hard work this is the last thing you want to hear. Tried all kinds of combinations. The one that stands out the most in when you attempt to change to hertz from 60 to 75, crashes everytime. Love the soundtrack. I will gather up the mini dumps and see if there is anything I can do to help.
me too, same issues.

im with all these guys - crashes about 20 seconds into a game on a regular map, crashes at the end of loading on the new maps.
so far built up a decent fleet and got to the first planet. soon as battled started crashed. this looks really good guys. thank you again for the hard work. it shows. this might just be a little more than my computer can handle. been wanting to build my own anyway. want to help with this somehow but its really been along time since I programmed and rendered. been since like Doom. if someone would direct me to the software needed and what you need the most I'll give it a look over and get back with you guys. Thankx again.
I have not yet make memory test for the 7DS 2.0 public release but i have number for the 7DS 2.0 partner release...
For enable the mod, sins+7DS need 0.5 gb with gfx low... using gfx very high, 0.8981 gb...
So, if you have 2 gb ram, using Vista, having a firewal, a antivirus, and a bunch of other application running in the background, it is possible that you are short in memory... before start sins, take a look at how much free ram ( real ram, not virtual one ) you have... if it is lower that 0.5 gb, you will a crash when enable the mod... over 0.8981gb free, you are secure...
Now, about map, i have test the random huge multistar map with 11 player ( 1 human, 9 AI, and pirate )... numbers are at the loading of the map, at the very beginning of the game... this grow with game time...
gfx on low : 1.0943 gbgfx on medium : 1.2324 gbgfx on high : 1.5051 gbgfx on very high : 2.2962 gb
GFX on very high is impossible with a windows OS 32 bits since the max that application can use is 2 gb ram... gfx on high will become instable in middle/late game on 32 bits windows OS but will work good on 64 bits OS if you have enough physical ram...
For the next version, 7DS 2.5 for sins 1.15, memory optimization from Stardock will ease the problem... and i hope that i will be able to add my own memory optimization ( related to texture )... if it work, vanilla game will spare 300 mb of ram, and 7DS will spare around 200 mb ram... good for a total of 0.5 gb...
SHORT REPLY : be sure to have enough ram, 4 gb is perfect... for these using windows OS, all gfx on very high crash the game at the map loading...
Greetings Everyone!
I apologize for all the dumps, but I guess you guys forgot what you had to do with previous versions of the mod. You CANNOT run everything at HIGH settings, or you will dump everytime. The game cannot handle it, and neither can your computer, no matter how powerful or weak it is. 7DS is just that good I guess! Anyways, run things at HIGH, but only if you have a decent computer, with at least 2 gigs of ram, and a nice dual core processor and graphics card with at least 256 MB of ram.
I will try again to change the main post at top, but the thing hasn't let me so far. It just keeps going back to what it says now. As if Stardock doen't want me to update it!!!
Also, DANMAN GAMES is OUR new gaming company. I have been doing this long enough now to realize that I want to do this full time, as my job and career. This is my attempt at that. The guys with me and I will be developing our own game that we may release years into the future. You will notice things on DANMAN GAMES that there are things you can actually buy, and that supports me, the site, and the other guys helping me. This all takes time and money people. And since I cannot legally sell 7DS, or any mod for that matter, this is a way that I can legally accept "donations" to the cause. Plus, DANMAN GAMES will also be the site of other mods, both for Sins and for other games. The next game will be Fallout 3, so think of DANMAN GAMES as sort of my own personal MODDB. I have mods going for Neverwinter Nights, and Oblivion as well. I will also be releasing other Sins mods, like my new upcoming Galactic Sins, which will feature actual galaxies, the way they were supposed to be, and planets that can be blown up to bits! This mod will rewrite everything you know about the Sins universe, and how you play the game. Plus, DANMAN GAMES will be the new home of the new versions Solar Sins and Sins Plus. DANMAN GAMES and the current 7DS forum will be the home for all these mods and games in the future, and I invite all of you to join us there.
And another thing, 7DS 2.0 was made for 1.05 because it was the last stable version, plus, I wanted to "outshine" the expansion a bit, and show off what could be done with modding. I was also seeing who was "loyal" to 7DS, and was willing to stick with 1.05 and wait for the mod to be done. Just a little experiement of mine. Loads of people actually have done this, and did not upgrade to the new version, or purchase Entrenchment.
Now, as said before, 7DS 2.5 WILL be for the new version, and hopefully Ironclad gets all the bugs out of it. So I will be supporting it in the future.
Anyways, try my suggestions and Thomasins suggestions above. Turn down your graphic settings to HIGH. Trust me, you don't need VERY HIGH anyways. 7DS looks that good, especially since all the textures have been tweaked.
I will playtest the mod myself again today. If I find anything new to report, I will post it. Thank you all again for your support, and for bearing with me through the growing pains.
Any plans on bringing some B5 ships to 7ds?
Yes in fact, I have plans to bring some B5 elements in, but it all depends on the mesh limits I am currently facing. I was hoping to bring in the Membari (hopefully I spelled that right) and the Shadows. But this is still up in the air for now.
minbari**
I have a 2.2 dual core, 2 G ram, and a 8600 GT video card. Cost me a little less than $400 to build this myself. If you set the planets, building detail & extras to high, you can run everything else at very high with no problems. The ships truly do look amazing. Played for eight hours straight without any issues. Very impressive and well worth playing. Huge battles are pretty awesome to watch. If you are having a problem finding a copy of version 1.05 without trying to install a patch, you can find the download at wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Stardock_Central without the computer trying to make you go to Impulse instead. This works if you have the original 1.0 version on disk. Once again thank you Danman and the 7 Deadly Sins team for a really spectatular mod. Don't know if this helps anyone but then again it might.
Danman,
With what parts of the mod are you looking for the most help? I could probably do just about anything. I have access to 3D Studio Max, Autocad and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. Like I said in one of my previous posts, "its been awhile" since I've done graphics but if you looking towards the future I could definitely help with something. I went to school to be an architect and computer science major. But I ended up becoming a chef and I miss computers. Just a thought if you were interested. If not, I'm just happy playing your game.
Chef,
You are doing what I dreamed of doing. I love to cook, and have some really good recipes that people go ape over, and I would love to either cook or do this full time. But alas, I must look at real life, and then try to improve that, which my schooling and DANMAN GAMES will do.
Now, it sounds like you have the right skills for the job. The most help is with models, and making UV MAPS for them. We have a ton of models, but only HammerSun and myself can do UV's, and I take forever at it, and HammerSun is AWOL currently. So if you can help with that, that will be a huge help. Making textures to match would be even more valuable. If you wish, send me a PM with your email, and then we can communicate outside this forum. Thank you for stepping up to help, this is how many of my partners came to be with me, by stepping up to help.
Glad to see that people are actually playing the mod, and enjoying it. Just remember to turn those graphics down, and you should have no problems, even on a multi-star 10 player map!
Enjoy eveyone, and feel free to post comments and questions. I also may start another thread, since I cannot seem to edit the top of this one, but I will try one more time.
Just wanted to let someone know that the victory 1 star destroyer does not attack. When u order it to attack it just sits there and does nothing. hope u gguys can get it fixed. thnx for the time.
MAIN POST UPDATED!......Finally!
Try loading it up again, and play again. If that does not work, try unloading the mod, and reloading it. LAst resort will be to reinstall it. The VSD1 works fine on my end, and is set to auto attack.
If you still have problems, please let me know.
Start a new thread??!!? This one almost has 3000 posts. Isn't it fitting that the biggest mod out there has the biggest thread? If its necessary, then I guess you should do it, but it seems a shame to loose this thread...
EDIT: Nevermind, you managed to update the top while I wrote this. Thank goodness.
On a happier note, 2.0 is AWESOME! Thank for this amazingness!
Good to hear. You put a lot of work into this, at least in the 2.5 version you did. Keep up the good work, and I am glad you are enjoying the mod!
Yeah, I finally managed to crack into the main post. We will keep this one going.
The Fact this isn't for entrenchment is going to push a lot of new people away. That and the horrific system requirements. It seems kinda redundant including all the shiny graphics mods if you have to put the graphics down to basically nothing to run this mod.
Running a Quad Core 9950 with 8 gigs of RAM and a GTX 285 vid card.. 1 gig ram there.. still have crashes with "high" settings..
Understandable. Thing is 7DS provides a lot more than Entrenchment does, so hopefully people will downgrade, or at least set up another install of Sins. Plus, the next version will support the new version of Sins, and Entrenchment, especially after they get all the bugs worked out.
Plus, on HIGH settings for everything, the game looks amazing. All the videos and pictures posted so far have been done on HIGH. There is a limit inside the game engine that does not allow for VERY HIGH with the things that are modded.
What version of Sins do you have?
SETTINGS ON HIGH:
nics pics. brilliant quality
I guess i'll wait until 2.5 comes out. Am upgrading to entrenchment this week and am currently at patch 1.15. Look's great though. Very cool.
Screw waiting. Impulse is such a DOG that I cant even get EITHER of my 2 comps to update beyond 1.05 or DL entrenchment which I already bought. Impulse sucks. Their techs are on the ball, tho. They are doing all sorts of stuff to help, but this back and forth thing is getting tiresome.
So in the mean time before 7DS 2.5, Im trying 2.0 and OMFG its SO freaking gorgeous! And all the races to play and all the other improvements to the visuals and sound tracks are simply stunning. Love it love it love it. Danman and team hit it outta the park. GJ and thanks guys.
