That sounds pretty do-able. I know Fileosoft has this really easy to use texturing program. Probably wouldn't take too long at all.
The model is good, the texture sucks.
I guess ur right, but it needs an update, like the bridge thing on the front, and its missing like 5 engines if u add tose things it'll be golden

I am File'O'Soft, from the 7DS team... i have not remake the ship... but i cannot texture a model who have some error... do, i have correct the error, in the same time reduce the poly count ( why use hundred of poly for a flat surface ? )... with the amount of poly spare, i have add 4 flak gun and a radar... but the model look like the original ( bad symetrie and hull not like the "real" ship )...
Around 30% of the new texturing is made as today... it don't look like the real ship, it look better !!! main component look like the real ship ( by example the position of the 30 Archer missile pod, group of 5, one group back/low, two group front/up on both side )... pipe, vent, mech and other detail was added on the texture... for these curious who wish see a picture, simply take a look at the 7DS forum ( http://sri-corp.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1312.30 , second post, last picture )...
By the way, i have begin remaking the CSS... not that the model was bad but he is not fully in proportion with the real ship... texturing will be similar in quality that my texturing of the Covenant Assault Carrier... but more fast due to new tools and easy due to the numerous pictures who exist...
Be sure of one thing, once a model is between my hand, the final result is never a wast of time...

Since a week ago,if i make the segmenting/UV of any ship, nobody will not be able to paint it in a easy way unless they have Blacksmith3D... i have recently buy the suite but if you wish, they have the paint module who is a freeware ( http://www.blacksmith3d.com/blacksmith3D-3d-paint-software.htm )... load your model, use auto UV and directly paint on the 3D model... don't worry about seam, it is like they don't exist !!! It is the software that i use for paint the Aegis Fate class... no more worry about segmenting, UV, seams, etc...
Give a try... go to the download page, register, install the free BlackSmith3D-paint, load your model ( OBJ format ), click the wizard, click auto-UV, and begin directly to paint on the 3D model... it is only one week that i have it, learning curve is fast ( have see the result with the AF )...
Hmm...it looks wonderful, but my model isn't working with it. I made it in Blender and exported it to .obj. When I try to import, it says it has no vertices!
I'm taking a look at it. I'll let you know if anything works out.
not to be a bitch canada but my computer is in for repairs which is why i have been quite and i cant work on anything on my parents computer otherwise i get yelled at. it will not be back for some time. sorry for all the delays on posting the work that i have finished.
Sorry to hear that. I just figured out a way to update my Sins and get Entrenchment too.
Also, Juggarnaught: That LRF model is having some serious glitches in there, sometimes with entire faces missing. I'll go export to Sins to see if it shows up on there as well.

Hmm...are the missing faces random, or are the grouped and/or have common characteristics (sorry I was just reading about poison ivy)? If the former, I think I have and idea as to why.

Juggarnaught10: Its all in a cluster on the upper side and some of the faces connecting to it.
Alright, then it might be the create polygon tool. You select 3 or more vertices and press FKEY and it fills in the face. Maybe it's not recognizing faces created that way. Another possibility is the file got corrupted in the email.
Blargh, EOC's! I have to study really hard because I forgot all the math I "learned" this year.
It can be the export to obj python script too... the script work good if the model have no UV or if all face are with UV... but partial UV export badly... if not all poly are on the UV map, export with the tex coord export option off.
Be sure of one thing, Blender is the perfect tools for professional 3D, maybe a little heavy for modding a game...
If minor repair is needed, i can help... begin to have experience with repair models... sketchup models are the more bad !!!

For the other problem, with BlackSmith3D, until now, he have open almost all my ship models... almost because the software seem to have some problem when the model is over the 2.5 million poly... or when more of 2 gb ram is used...

I havent even attempted UV mapping on this one, and it's quite simple, so I doubt it's either.
That's funny, most people say Blender doesn't make the cut for professional modelling...
Yeah, so I just got it working today. I immediately want to port the mod over. Anyone know if the Entrenchment 1.01 mod tools work with the current patch?
I think they do but im not sure.
