yeah an easier way with entrenchment is to just replace ships. simply change the mesh with the one that you want. where is the entity manifest at?
It depends on what you hav goin on, mine came in a mod i downloaded for entrenchment, but you can find in the entrenchment folder thats located the program files.
(Program Files/stardock games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Entrenchment)
Oh and by the way I would look into adding the "Dynamic Battle System 0.9(BETA)" to the mod. it was made as part of the "last stand mod", it makes it so frigates just don't sit there and shoot at each other, instead they fly around and do strafing runs on larger ships. the whole idea is that fighter physics are applied to the frigates. unfortunatly its only for entrenchment due to hardcode issues. But I found it makes the game more tactical and much more enjoyable.

Well, I was looking into this mod but the truth is that it wouldn't fit with all the ships. I mean sure maybe the prowler/missile cruisers or something but to my knowledge (aside from Captain Keye's fancy manuerving) it was basically static formations duking it out.
Am I right in this? If not then I'm sure we can add it in.
I was thinking about that earlier. I think it should be applied for just the frigates (not colony or siege). Due to their size, manevering by rotating sideways and then thrusting what was "up" before they rotated (hope that made sense) is a much more feasible system of movement than for larger ships, and allows for better evasive maneuvers. I believe the In Amber Clad kind of moves like that when approaching New Mombassa in Halo 2. Overall you're right though, ships like the Marathon would not be dodging around like that.
I really don't think that the manuevering mod should be applied to this mod. Dodging around like that may be pushing the ships to the limit. If I remember correctely, the Iroqious(sp?) needed its fusion reactor to be nearly completely replaced because it severly overheated after the Keye's Loop maneuver. To see UNSC ships fly around like that doesn't really sit well with me.
I see where you're coming from, but the ships in the mod don't do loops or anything extreme they just don't sit there and wait to get blown up. like they'll fly toward an enemy ship shoot at, fly pass it, then turn around and attack again. The large ships like caps, carriers, seige, coloney and LRM frigates wouldn't/don't do those manuvers.
Oh and you don't hav to use the effect on all the frigates because in the mod it is applied individualy to the seperate ships.
Ih you plot out a route for them to follow, they'll do a loop and only attack whats available, and only be attacked with odds that can be beaten in a big battle, I'll be posting a video of it soon

Did we ever figure out who to change the mesh of a planet ingame? I'd really like a thick blackened crust to be the aftermath.
That would only work with entrenchment but you could make it work pretty well.
If u've ever noticed when you upgrade your orbital defenses there is golden particle effect that that flows over the structure and when its gone... there's ur upgrade. now if you made new particle effect for the glassing like say a huge cloud of smoke or somethin so when it clears, the panet looks burnt.
Well I actually dont have entrenchment as of yet. So I haven't seen this.
On another note, anyone know what class this guy could be used for? I was thinking either a Mako corvette or a frigate/destroyer of some kind.

Also, while we are on the glassing thing, I'd like to reiterate a point I made a while ago:
I've been thinking of ways to incorporate Pelicans into the mod and I've come up with this: the UNSC would never bombard an inhabitable planet with nuclear warheads or any other weapons. They would send down an invasion force, whether it be by means of Pelicans, Albatrosses, or exo-atmospheric insertion by means of HEVs. This would make for excellent research: Regimental Increase: Level 1:5%"damage" boost/Level 2: 10%boost, Albatrosses: Level 1:15% boost/ Level 2:20% boost, ODSTs: Level 1:25% boost
We could also do this with the Covenant. It would be unrealistic to think that they could re-inhabit a planet that they just bombarded with super-heated plasma. Firstly, all the ground would be glass. Secondly, the oceans and atmosphere would have boiled away. And still, the Covenant invaded a planet and exterminated its population before they glassed it. The Covenant have dropships and drop pods too. Why shouldn't they do the same as the UNSC[in the mod]?
I was thinking and I thought that we could sneak in some civilian research that would decrease the rate of "bombardment" damage.
For the effects, the explosions could be smaller and more widespread to show that there is fighting taking place.

Well, I need to buy entenchment first and then I can get to work updating it. I need to though, vanilla sins really hampers many of my changes.
Well the covenant did partialy glass harvest in halo wars, and in the books it says that every human world the covenant conqured (with a few exceptions) was glassed.
I thought dinoff was workin on that.

i officially have a working entrenchment version with all ships under their respective names and files. canada i cant upload any of that till i get back home from college because my school is gay about its internet usage. i need the aid of another entrenchment user to discover the secrets to making a new starbase using the same meshes. o i only care about making the vanilla starbase work under different names because i have finals in 2 weeks.
Well then I definitely can't wait to test that puppy out once you get the chance to upload it! Anyways, I'm buying entrenchment by the end of the week.
