American English is both an oxymoron and a dialect, the same is true regarding Australian, South African, etc. English.

True, but at least in Oz and S Africa they don't bastardise the English language by dropping the U in words like valour, or replace the letter S with a Z. First it was the Boston Tea Party, then it was rewriting the English Dictionary... what's next?
