Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.
The mod will be built in 2 halves. The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment. The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.
Agreed it takes lots of ships to fight a wraith even a still in progress game. but so far the work is beautiful the ships look great. Tho take 2 or so starbase's and you can win all but one battle without the weapon upgrade up and running they are a turningpoint to fight and defense that and not losing the planet is helpful to.
Tho i had played as humans so far not bad i got passed the first part of the game without getting destroyed in 10 seconds lol
I have a question, does anyone else's ship icons load the stock ship icons like mine are in the DIP version?
I don't know what it is, but it just kinda takes me out of the universe when all my icons won't load properly!

The Tauri are supposed to start out pretty UP to stay somewhat inline with the show. If you're under attack by an Atlantis or Hive(the two main threats early for the Tauri) you should put down a starbase. They're quite cost efficient and can pretty easily deal with either of those threats.
Something else though that you bring up I think is quite important - the hull regen on Wraith ships is pretty high in the early game. I think it would be much better to lower the initial hull regen and up to bonus given to it from hull research.

The Tauri should have most of their icons switched over along with a good number of Asuran ships.
They do in the EN version, I even checked the HUD Icons, brushes, windows, I've checked everything I know how to check, and it's all correct, but when I load up this mod on DIP, the Stock ship icons appear instead of the custom ones!
More constructive crit for you then, dont put Wraith Cruisers as the independant systems enemies. The main reason the early game for Tauri is so hard is caus eof resources. Usualy in the first half hour of a game i'd have taken at least 3 or 4 planets. Boosting my minerals to a point where i can research and build. However in that game i mentioned in half hour i was only able to take 1 planet, an asteroid with only metal mines. I didnt have enough crystal to do nothing. I think this is the main reason why our human game failed so misreably.
Having wraith cruisers who can take out most Tauri ships on independant planets is again OP, i would suggest switching them to something a bit weaker like Lucian Alliance. I know this is not Canon but i dont know how the "random" enemies are worked out in the game so i cant suggest anything else. Perhaps you could set the percantage of Cruiser class wraith ships lower for random encounters, i dont know. But this is a big issue that stops the Tauri from expanding early game and ultimatley leads to their having no resources do defend against Wraith Hives.
I would like to make a suggestion considering the Wraith progenitors special ability to call 5 wraith Cruisers. I think this should be either lowered in time, or lower the ammount of cruisers it calls to say 2 or 3. This power is jut OP, 5 cruisers is just to much of a beat stick for them to be able to just warp in. That or put that ability towards the end of its XP tree, like after 6 or 7 levels. Enven though it only lasts 45 seconds thats still enough time for them to decimate an entire Tauri fleet and homeworld.
As the balancing is now Playing as Asurian vs Wraith and vice Versa is do-able and from what i've tested is fine, they both even out. But anything vs Human is OP due to either too much shield to take down (Asuran) or too much firepower and hull like the wraith.
I would also like to remind you that the Deadalus class ship could take on a Wraith Hive and go toe to toe with it even in its early days. It couldnt deal enough damage without nuke beaming but its asgard Shielding would last the distance for a good while one on one. This i do not see reflected in the stats of the Deadalus in the mod, they die to easily as it is even with Shield upgrades. The Wraith i know are spose to be powerfull but some of their weapon damage values are a bit too OP.
We have to remember that this is an RTS game, sure it'd be great to remake the show to strict canon, but lets face it we cant send SG teams onto wraith hives in cloaked puddle jumpers to detonate nukes inside can we? Sacrifices of canon must be made to balance the ships so that each team has its advantages and disadvantages. Wraith get their big beat sticky ships right off the bat, so as soon as their first cap (which is free) is built all they have to do is force level it to get the uber warp in 5 cruisers ability and then jump on down to the human players homeworld to wipe them out in the first 10 mins. I know this cause i've done it against a very hard enemy player. I wiped him out in less then 10 mins with just the progenitor wraith capital. He had no resources to build enough ships or prob even research the starbase before i came and oblitorated him.
Sacrifices of canon must be made to make the game balanced so it is enjoyable for those who play humans, rather then just having them as expensive canon fodder.
I thank you for listening to my critiscism how it is spose to be, to improve things, many mod teams dont like being told their game is unbalanced. So again i thank you for hearing my complaints and taking them to heart. If you require help working out balancing i would be happy to donate my time to help out, unfortunatly i know nothing of modding though so all i could offer are balancing ideas. I have plenty of time on my hands im not working due to a medical condition and i practically dont sleep as part of that condition (damn insomnia) i have spent many hours testing the mod and would be happy to do so and leave more feedback.

Although the Tauri is really unbalanced at the beginning of the game, I still like play them the most. If I'm not careful thought the other races will mop the floor with my face! I have implemented a solution that really works for me though. I've added and ability to the X-303 mid game that gives it a huge defensive boost mid-game. I've only tested this against the Wraith, but the ten 303's I built lasted most of the rest of the game! I think this would work for the X-304's, but their ability slots are full.
If you want me to send the files so you guys can have a look, just ask.
Oh, and now that I think about it, every time I play against the Asurans, I get a mini dump in DIP. I'm not exactly sure what it is yet, but I'll see if I can find the exact cause!
I was going to say, the Tauri are ridiculously underpowered. Which goes with the show, but jesus! I lost a capital ship to three PIRATES! Really?

Six Wraith Hive ships with about 15 support craft demolished 145 Tauri ships.
It wasn't like that in the TV show.
You're right, the Tauri never had 145 ships in the show.
On a more serious note, that says nothing about the actual balance since the composition of the fleets weren't mentioned and neither was the tech level of each side. Since it was 145 vs 21 and the Tauri lost, I assume Asgard beam weapons wasn't researched yet?
And in response to the previous post, would you feel any better knowing that those are Superhives? The model/texture/labels still need to be applied, but the stats are already on a ship in-game.
As far as the pirates go, I assume you're talking about planet militia's. It was recently brought to my attention that the stats on those in the released version are a lot stronger then those in the team build. That will be fixed in the future.
Well you have to take into consideration that the Wraith ONLY got the ZPM-Powered Hive Ship after they got the ZPM's.
I Haven't played as Wraith yet to see their research tree, but I would assume it should be Late game as it was the last 2 episodes of the show that they had the ship.
how are the cosmetic bits like icons, strings, voices etc?
I would like to take the time to let everyone know that the Tauri are going to be getting a buff. and the planetary defenders are getting nerfed its my fault they have the op stats, as i changed code and didnt let myles know about it. So fyi we will have a update for everyone to enjoy.

They may have canceled the series. But where they failed we shall prevail. Were they could not we shall overcome. Just because the people in hollywood cant get it right doesnt mean we cant. Hell one of the devs for stargate worlds has already said we have made a better game than they every could .So sit back and enjoy the invasion.

Just wanted to leave my experience with the mod that I've had, plus my thanks for making such a wonderful mod!
The Situation:
Me and my friend own 2 stars (my friend having the second one) and we are against one Asuran and Wraith respectively. The Asuran wipes out the Wraith, and we have (so far) been left largely alone.
So I've got the entire Military Tech tree filled out, and I've got about 75 Daedulus ships, 6 Excalibur Caps, 1 Achilles, 1 Cerberus, and 1 Posideon; as well as a several support ships (about 5-10 of each). Plus about 213 Fighters/Bombers.
My friend has 113 Daedulus ships, 5 Excaliburs, 2 Achilles and 2 Posideons; when we decide to combine forces and attack a planet I had scouted earlier.
Human Casualties: (141 Daedulus, 2 Excalibur's, 2 Achilles, 24 support ships; equaling a total of 169 ships lost)
Mine:
63 Daedulus
2 Excalibur (both lvl 4)
1 Achilles (lvl 4)
All of the support ships (total of 24)
Friend's:
78 Daedulus
Enemy Casualties
None.
The starbase was the only thing that was there - it lost all of its shields and 1000 hp, then it refused to loose any more. Even when all of the Excalibur's shot their Langarian weapons.
Aside from the fact that it was completely ridiculous, me and my friend had a lot of fun. My experience fighting a Wraith player has been easier though, with the fact that my ships didn't die instantly and it seemed (with appropriate tactics - beaming a nuke is fun.) that it was survivable. Plus AG-3 Satellites are awesome (1 hit kill against a Wraith Hive lvl 10)

Sounds like the shield regen on the Asuran starbase is too high. I'll take a look at it.
Its the shield mitigation you're after for the Asuran starbase, it starts at about 50 but once attacked for a few seconds it shoots to like 109%. I kind of used that error to my advantage when getting my ass kicked.

I really have to say, i love your mod:) It's realistic and depends on the real Stargate, so it's really a lot of fun to play it.
But I also have to recomment something.I've played the mod first as human, then as Asuran. You've done a greate work, no question. But, I the fights are a problem. When I came to a fight with an Atlantis Battleship, and there are only a few (I would say less then 10) ships of the human the race, I expect that the fight would take a long time, because the Atlantis ship has about 15k shild points, and those human ships were I think Prometheus ships, but I can't remember seriosly.But, the fight took about 5 seconds? In the normal Sins, the fight would take much longer. I don't really know how to explain it, but I'm playing Sins now for a year, and the fights in your mod, are feeling a little bit strange...
