Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.
The mod will be built in 2 halves. The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment. The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.
Congratulations SGI team. I'll definitely have to check this out when I get a chance. It's been a long time coming but I'm sure it's been worth the wait!

I was going to leave this to JTAYLORPCS to deal with this, but I feel as one of the modelers of the mod, I feel it is my duty to respond.
Now, with that said, I am going to attempt to be nice as possible. Firstly, JT and I discussed releasing the mod's Human faction as is, so that everyone can have a taste of the mod and what do you do? Bash two years worth of work, saying that the models are 'HIDEOUS'. Honestly, if you think you can do better then make your own mod, no one said you have to play our mod, and with an attitude like yours why should we release the mod when we are finished?
If you have kept up with the mod, then you would have seen all the ships, and known ahead of time what they look like, and what slot they fill.
As for your rant about the Cerberus... The Cerberus is designed to be a support vessel, and keeps with the cannon designs. You dont like it, dont build it.
Im not saying that we dont appreciate the 'feedback', cause we really do, however you need to make it CONSTRUCTIVE. We have spent countless hours working on this mod and one of the first things you do is bash how the models look. That is a big slap in the face, and you are lucky that we havent had the urge to have you banned for your insolence.
@starwarswins - what are you doing even playing this mod, it is quite clear that you do not like it. I would advise you stop criticising their work before you start upsetting everyone.
Anyway, great mod so far guys, keep the good work coming.
The only thing that currently bugs me at the moment which is easily fixed is the beam weapon ability. It doesn't quite look right to me, but i guess this might be fixed later on in the mod. But if its not I already have a suitable particle effect that may work for the beam weapon, although thats down to opinion. At the moment it is used for me as a weapon and not an ability, but i guess that doesn't really matter with particle effects.
Anyway, i have uploaded the particle effect onto my profile on Moddb and is currently awaiting authorisation incase you guys wish to give it a try. http://www.moddb.com/members/sanityslayer/addons/beam-weapon

You should fix the shield restoration the factories and repair platform have, since the buff only applies to ships with antimatter<100%, and shields in the several K range restore a lot slower relative to AM reserves of a few hundred with a boost of 10/sec to each. The slow shield regeneration also makes no sense since the Tau'ri can restore 1k hull a second at level one for the hull repair ability and double that at level three.

There are only two small, ridiculous, insignificant things that I do not like (just for feedback):
The ships size... They' re too small for my taste
The "usesFighterAttack TRUE" I know it's more realistic but it makes the battles more difficult to follow...(I have already change that... )
Finally it's all a matter of taste...
I especially like your research tree (very well trought) and the starship junk yard (I captured a hive and asurant aurora warship!!!!)

First of all, kudos to the entire mod team for putting a lot of time and effort into this mod. Even if this is still in a rough shape as you guys said, the attention to detail is amazing. I'm talking about the entire look-and-feel of the mod, from the custom menus to the loading screens and music, this mod has it all.
I like how the models were done, even if some may seem unfinished/unpolished and, as dondurito said, too small for my taste (esp. the caps).
I also like the dynamic ship movement in battle, and the fact that ships are moving pretty fast overall makes for a nice, fast-paced game indeed.
The missile launches look pretty good to me, not a big fan of the railguns personally, but that is just me. I would like to see some more Asgard-style beam weapons like the Daedalus has in the series - the Asgard Beam Weapon Ability is displayed as a very short burst of lightning when it should be one (or rather: two) long, powerful beam
Of course there's a lot of little things to fix, and I will try to report any bugs or imbalances I enounter - so far, great work!

Because some of us have more respect for people then others. I, like many people on here, will respect people for their points of view, but can only take so much
while we appreciate you watching and playing our mod, you should have had a little more respect and gone through either this thread or the moddb profile to see what ships we have, and not get upset because we didnt chose a model that you prefered.
I will do it for the fans of the mod, this was not done for me, but for the fans. I will not release this because you 'think' you know what I will do.
Enjoy that mod, it is a good mod for that game.
Ok, just finished my first game as Tauri against 3 hard AIs. Here's a few initial observations/bugs:
Defense:
- Burst rocket ability doesn’t work/ show up after research for the gauss defense platform
- Meson bolt cannon ability doesn’t work/show up after research for the gauss defense platform
Area 51:
- “Ancient Database” and “Search for ZPMs” research options seem to have no purpose/effect?
- “Lightspeed Engines” research is supposed to increase the sublight speed according to the description
- “Quantam Railgun prototype” should be “Quantum”?
Ships & Misc:
- Excalibur, Achilles, and (all?) the other Capital Ships have more abilities than you can max out at level 10 (intentional?)
- Ships sometimes hang in front of planets/they don’t move around automatically
- “Emergency Lightspeed Engines” ability on the Ares slows down enemy ships, yet its description says it’s supposed to improve sublight engine performance of the ship itself
- “Asgard Pulse Beam” Ability goes from 1300 to 1500 to 3750 DMG (level 1-3) - also seems underpowered compared to the “Asgard Beam Weapons” trait (maybe this should do AoE damage?)
- All caps do exactly the same base bombing damage
- The Prometheus is pretty much a waste of resources compared to the Tempest and Daedalus Class ships

Hi, just signed to forums to write this. Been watching this mod from day 1, waiting for the day i might get a piece of my favourite TV show into SOASE.
Just downloaded the new minimod and i gotta say this. Fantastic job! It looks and feels A M A Z I N G and its a BETA. I mean when this thing is finished its gonna be mindblowing. Ships look awsome even without textures. the sound of dialing device, when i press a button, made me cry of happines
So, because of people like "starwarswins" the world that we live in, is like it is, a sad place. Dont let it get to you.
SGI TEAM, you are doing excellent work and bring joy to a lot of fans, which cant wait to play this in all extend you are preparing for us.

I have a bit of play of this, havent had a chance to have a proper game yet. From what i have played AWESOME work guys, loving the ship models and i like how you have put them even without textures some mods wouldn't even do that so you guys are great for doing that.
Things i have noticed while playing sofar.
- As said the Ships seem very small esp the 302's i find it hard to see them without zooming out to bring up the icons. Although i suppose you had to make them that small in order to get the likes of the Hive ships in becuase they are huge and to keep it to scale.
- The missiles the tauri fire, now this dosen't happen everytime but sometimes the missiles will just circle the ship they are meant to be hitting and won't do any damage they just circle it until i order the ship to attack agian, now is this an known issue?
- Hyperspace effect. When ships going jump into a phase lane the hyperspace effect just seems to slow down the whole game to a crawl.
Apart from that i am really enjoying it. I like the music, i know some of it is from SGA but where are the other tracks from?
i noticed that the Daedalus Class Dont auto attack enemy vessels untill i order them to and that the game lags tremendously
Daedalus Auto-attacks just fine for me.. also, no lags for me unless the battles are getting REALLY big. I do have a ridiculously overpowered PC though (too bad SINS can't use more than a single CPU thread, it's a real shame).
Hyperspace effect has slowed down every PC I have played the mod on, I will look into finding a more friendly version, but no guarantees.

first of all awesome work! ive only played it for a few minutes, but what i have noticed so far is this.
- When i go to the research section, and i go over each research some text go out of the boxes and out the screen. i thought maybe my resolution is wrong and when i try to change it dosent allowed me to do so, edit: It didnt seem to allowe me to change the res but on my second try on the game that seems to be working. now the text still goes out the little boxes especialy over quatum rail gun and asgard reserch techs.
Yes the hyperspace effects slow down all games, we have a few particles we are testing out , the music is Fuure World music, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate . A few others as well. Also to address some of the string issues , we are in process of reworking the fonts. As such the text is outside of some box.

It might be worth pointing out that the Hyperspace effects don't slow down my system at all, and i mean not even a slight jitter, no idea why.
I love the mod though, its an epic bit of work.
I will say that prometheus could be stronger, since at present even the fenrir is stronger defensively!
I'll post that on the feedback page in a bit.
If i'm honest, I'm surprised it doesnt slow down at all, since im sure there are people here with far better rigs.
Keep the work up though! Can't wait to see full scale battles with all 3 races.

Are you you saying that the mod doesnt run if you have the gameinfo folder in the mod files? If so what version of the game are you running, because this is intended for 1.051
please make sure that the game is running on the 1.051 patch
