Yep, pretty much. Demigod beta just fell on me like a ton of bricks, so I'm out of it for a few more days. Oh, and essays. I'm ready to get enough stuff in for a public beta, it'll just be very bare bones.
regarding to camera, try adjusting the photo appature, if you know how.
it opens and closes the lens of the camera, and if its open all the way then only the background will be in focus.
if your camera doesnt have the appature adjuster then just try manual focusing.
For your camera problem:
-Set it to macro mode (if it has one) which should be a little flower. This will reduce its focal length to about 12cm.... allowing for much more close up pictures
-Hold the button only halfway down, aiming the redicule at the object. This will get the camera to focus manually. Wait for the image to focus, then press all the way down.
-Set the camera to a timer, say 5 seconds, and put it on a stand (or like me, on a pile of books) and aim it at the object. Then press the shoot button, and step away from the camera. (No human, NO HUMAN, can hold a camera steady. If you shake even the slightest bit, it will blur the image)
-A plain white or plain black background. always helps.
-Good, white, lighting. Get an energy saver flouresent lightglobe, they give off the best light.
These are the steps I take when taking photos. You should end up with somthing like this, although this image is slightly blurred due to poor lighting angle and JPEGing so that it was no longer 5mb! lol.
Is it supposed to be broken in half like that? Somehow I don't think even the forces of Chaos Undivided are stupid enough to fly a ship that's about to snap. Imperial Navy with all that "Emperor Protects" crap, maybe.

Yeah, I tried stripping it of paint, but ended up melting parts of it instead.... So i turned it into a hulk and bought more. Thats why the prow looks so 'dirty'.... its just residue scraps of paint from the last scheme. Its just so annoying when playing a big game when your ships get turned into flaming hulks..... Its hard keeping track of which ones are hulked and whiche ones arnt. So a model hulk helps alot lol
i love the warning stripes... wish my ships looked that good =P
p.s i think i have to nick that scheme mine are blue with red or white prows and gold trim on the prows...

I'll have to try those Chang. I don't think there is a macro mode but it does have a timer. Nice splodey ship by the way
EDIT: If you want to strip the paint off something get some concentrated simple green! That's what Kiernyc does, I have no idea if it works though (sometimes there's a cup of simple green on the table and I'm like whats this and he tells me and stuff... I don't remember if it worked or not).
EDIT #2: Nope. Even putting it on a flat surface, with the self timer, doesn't work. I think it's either the fact that the camer a is kinda old or the mega pixels. Is 3.1 not alot?
You know you could try some brake fluid for removing paint. Trust me you do not want that stuff anywhere near the exterior of a car.
3.1 isn't a whole lot, but it shouldn't be producing images like that. (R2D2?) What kind of camera do you have?
If all else fails, do you still have the manual?
Some cameras (although unlikely) just plain old cant take close up photos, because it has a normal sized focal length that cant be reduced. Im guessing it was a cheap camera then? If not, then theres somthing terribly wrong, that I cant explain except for that the warp is playing hell with your camera
I don't have the manual. Like I said it's old (my step mom got a new one so she gave me that one). But even with the other camera's I've used (like my mom's and my sister's) are still out of focus close up. I probably need a special uber camera with a special lens or something...
No no, it should just work. Are you sure they have no macro function? (little flower) Because if it doesnt have one, it means its A ) Auto.... which means it should automaticly do it for you, although they are only on the new ones... B ) It wasnt made for close up shooting, and cant focus within 12cm...

I need to ask how many of you guys are planning on getting the first expansion online. Because if they're doing what I think they are, then the additions the first expansion makes should make ramilies star forts and blackstones really easy to do an awesome job on, but if it won't work for most people, then we have problems. So, how many?

if my two cents matters, i say dont waste the time waiting for, and developing for, it.
yes but we would then have to make the ramalies and blackstone a ship which could cause problems for the mx ships things. instead we could make it one of these starbases which perfectly fits it

How are the planets going to be done? I want my forge worlds!
Renaming and restatting all the existing planet models, as well as those in the Sins Plus mod, which Danman has graciously allowed us to use.
I will probably get the expansion ($10 isnt much...) But if your mod is only going to stay on the vanilla Sins, then I wont get it. If you decide to move over to the expansion, so will I. You lead and I follow lol!

ok i might actualy be getting my new computer this week.. (thats what i said 2 weeks ago >.>) they have decided to get their act together and get the parts in...they havent explicetly said that those parts will go towards my already paid for computer which stus is still pending... but i'll beleive them this time... maby...
only probblem is i'm midway through my exams (i have another 3 days of exams next week) and i kinda like the idea of passing my trail school certificate (you should know what i'm talkin bout chang =P) so i may have to study
... bah like thats gona happen i'll probbly end up just playing stalker: cs and mass effect till the wee hours of the morning
