well yeah if your versing each other I do deserve to loose. it's more the coperative games (mind you the majority of my mistakes are luck), Like cat and mouse for example. a stupid red mouse kept leading the cat to our our bases and kept saying we were at fault, if i hadn't blown him up we would have lost to the cat. 'Noobs who think they are pro, then pros who get pissed at the noobs'. the battle.net has become just 1 huge battle, there's not much fun left in it. maybe I should try switching servers, the europian maybe. The game is great, just that winning has become priority over fun, or at least it has in all the games i've been in.
Jan 16th I beleive.
yup, January 16th baby! im SO EXCITED
"WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?"
That show lost me some time ago but i can't NOT watch to see how it turns out.
I'm going to laugh when I'm right even though I haven't watched a single episode in its entirety.
Just saying.
yer missing out on an awesome show SS; and to be honest, i really don't care who or what is the last cylon, im just along for the ride
Indeed.
Well, I've seen bits and pieces of it, but never got into it enough to watch it even a whole episode, much less the entire series.
However, I'm running out of things to watch, so maybe I will.
i'm with SB. even though i've pondered it at great length, after re-watching the last half season, there are some things i want to know more than the identity of the last cylon, such as:
wtf is up with the opera house? how to the opera house visions relate to baltar (he's the only one not sharing them)?
what is the metaphysical fate of the cylon species? how does it relate to the cylon and hald cylon babies?
assuming they do arrive at our earth, how will they reconcile the myth of kobol with our planet's fossil record showing human evolution on earth, if they even try to?
etc., etc.
Howdy folks!!!
I'm finally back!!!
I see things are about the same as before. I see we still suffer a feline infestation.......Oh well, ya need something around to kick when your angry, may as well be a kitty cat.
And you heard it hear first, the final cylon is Adama.
Welcome back Nelio, some changes happened while you were gone.
Do tell Seth. I have caught up on the whole seekernightlycrosfiremidtaleineeverfler affair. Anything else of note?
Now if adama is the last cylon i'll puke. the show stopped making sence a long time ago, but that would be a bit much, bad enough that Colonal Tigh is one. Maybe everyone is EXCEPT for Adama. I mean isf the cylons were originally looking to kill all humans and only had a change of heart / mind after some time, then why have the sleepers sleeping for so long? The humans only escaped Caprica by luck, with the cylons that were in the fleet and especially on the Galactica the chase could have been over before it started. Still, the new Boomer is much nicer to look at that the original. lol
Side question for everyone at this most learned of empires: is anyone aware of the game bug where you do not get the +1 speed bonus if you trade an AI for gravity accelerators? And has anyone else here ever check on other bonuses from trade goods that you get from AI players? thanks I had a seperate thread but it has been quite bypassed even with a friendly bump from SS.
Seeker/RogueTrooper/Talisin is now banned from the Geckodon thread and I need to play more MV games.
Well, if the cylons wanted to find earth and for whatever reason, they couldn't do it alone, there would be reason to let thins slide. That and, if the humans were really a problem, wouldn't they have just killed them all on New Caprica? Why allow them to live unless there was a need to keep them alive?
I'd still like it to be Baltar, but i don't know how they could explain that now....though he did test as a cylon on his machine did he not way back in season 1???? More fuel on that fire was for a while on IMDB under Caprica, the BSG spinoff, there was a female character that was a scientist that was the first to create the Cylons......her name was to be Baltar.
I'd love it to be Baltar, but i think it will be Adama.
His machine didn't work though I thought...or was it that he was just lying to people on the answers?
the Baltar character in the original series was the creator of the Cylon. i've never read anything stating the relationship between the new series and the original.
as for Baltar's machine, i've always figured it to be a lame duck. he was a computer programmer, not a geneticist, and it didn't detect Boomer (can't remember if she was tested though, but Tigh did say that it failed on her anyway).
It did detect Boomer, Balter just lied about it as Boomer was in the room with him at the time. When he tested himself it flashed up red first then green..IIRC...we were to wonder, i guess, was that baltars mind seeing the red....or did it really happen.
But it all could be random too.....
From the banter on IMDB this woman in the Caprica show, which is set 40 years before the first cylon war (original series) was to be Guis Baltar's grandmother........so that kinda lent creedence to the notion of Baltar being a toaster.
But who the hell knows......Did anyone pick that Tigh and Tyrol would be Cylons???
What happens if I say yes?
Oops, didn't even watch that much of the show, so can't say that I did. Well, damn.
If it is Adama what would that do to Apollo's nature? That would be interesting. BTW the show was cooler when Apollo was his name and not his nickname. So who could it be? Hmmm CAn't really be Starbuck since she was used for whatever experiment on New Caprica BUT the other cylons didn't know who the other 5 were.
I thought that the machine did work and he didn't tell anyone. However we find out later that a lot more people are really cylons and they were tested with negative results.
Who designed these cylons anyway? I mean look at the female versions, all pleasing enough (oo la la) . Now look at all of the male ones...
Tigh--> lol
yeah, but then there's Anders a gay friend of mine also used to keep a picture of chief tyril on his desk, so i guess it's really subject to taste. and i think Leoban is kinda cute.
in the backstory i'm pretty sure Baltar's grandmother is the original designer of the Cylon, but who 'designed' the hybrids and the skin jobs? maybe it was the cylon god? adds new meaning to the phrase deus ex machina. for some reason i don't think the centurions would be smart enough to design better machines. moreover, until the rebel cylon reconfigured their circuitry, the centurions lacked free will. so for the cylon to rebel against the colonies in the first place, they must've been following someone. then again Tigh was alive even at that point, so they could've been following the skin jobs, or maybe Tigh was "replaced' somewhere after that.
i have a feeling the rest of BSG will focus on the cylon's future, and the Caprica spin-off will attempt to answer some questions about their past.
Since you guys are talking about BSG, I found a lil pic you guys might like
Nice one Seth. You can't beat a guy wearing hockey gloves.
Maybe itys due to nostalgia, but I like the old one better, hokey as it was. You have to admit the theme song was better.
heh good find, Seth. that was funny.
um, no i don't
You'll have to educate me a bit... Anders, is he the guy that was with Starbuck or was that Boomer? I think I lost track of who the cylons are and I especially can't remember all of their names.
ok from the Glactica itself theres Tigh, Boomer, the chief (is this Tyril?), the president's right hand lady, the guy with the black hair that was Starbucks boyfriend. Right?
So who is Leoban? Is he one of the original skins? Is he a cylon? Either way, the casting director stacked the deck i think. lol
