Sorry, wrong thread. Nevermind.
@CL: well actually....i was never in the Gerontocracy; too young Not that I didn't get along well with quite a few of them, but then...I've never really had issues with anyone either.

One is never too young to be old. sadly, only too old to be young.
clanlindsey, from what I see on the AltMeta we are down to a very few--only three games posted this month. I'm working on one, but I like the monster maps and I'm being delayed by the final death of my old computing chair and the wait while the new one comes from the factory. You know how geezers need their comfy chairs if they're going to click and type for too many hours...
Anywho, re a Charge of the Frail Brigade, I'd be proud of us if we just manage to stay in the top ten without anyone having a stroke or breaking a hip. I doubt I can get my current game finished before the end of the month, but I'll try.
@ Clanlindsey, you so right and that is something I never thought about until now becuase I have no one in My Empire. Ok, forget my mother because she does even know how to play. My father plays GmOOnii but that is it, he leaves everything up to me to take of. I am an American teenage girl. (Saint Mina) I run everything and only I talk for the My Empire. When you read a post it is from me, even from the every begaining it has always been me and no one else.
If people do join My Empire, they will pledge their alliance to me (Saint Mina) , I am the one who is fighting beside you and I am your hero to shine with the purest of light.
Emperor GmOOnii is like big brother or a politicain, always wacthing and never getting his hands dirty.
Saint Mina always fighting for glory and getting the things done.
If that helps, good, if not then more ask more questions then go click on Order below.
Saint Mina of Ophelia VII of Order of the Bloody Rose of Orders Militant of Adepta Sororitas
What about you Jacklv? Do you have a character for the Gerontocrats?
RL intervenes again and again and...
the one character i have is currently of little use to anyone. i haven't posted a game since january. but i have a lot of excuses, lots of them.
And then there's the good ol' out of memory crash. I don't do it often, but something about a really big game and Vista hibernation over several evenings gets wonky at some point. Screwed myself out of quite a few hours spent working on just a few turns by wanting to avoid the 'influence doughnut hole' that comes after reloading a game. Sigh.
The influence re-load bug is easily fixed. Just build or destroy a starbase, colonize a planet, or add a resource increasing module to a galactic resource starbase. The influence pops right back to where it should be instantly.
Sentient species taste better...
That's only easy if are looking for ways to waste BC and have a free constructor (I can't believe you'd put "colonize a planet" in a list of "easy" things to do!). But I'll try to keep it in mind for those moments when I could 'get ready' for a reload before I shut down the game.
I always keep extra constructors around for just this purpose. No, colonizing a planet is often not "easy" in regards to availability, but it is easy in terms of resources and effort. "Simple" would have been a better word to use.
What harm does the influence loss for a round do?
Income via tourism. Only really matters for score, at that point.
Or if you're still in the stage where you're trying to flip AI planets, but with the MCC changed in TA that's not really a major concern anymore, since it's so easy regardless.
SS forgot the very important corrollary to trying to flip planets: it matters when you want an influence win! It's also silly to assume everyone is playing Evil. I've only built the MCC once, and that might have been before DA.
But it's good to see scoremonsters trying to help us old farts keep our thread active. We'll have plenty of stable, warm laps ready for you feisty furballs once you get tired of all the yowling and slashing. Well, maybe not plenty, but I'm sure the nursing staff will help us work out a rotation. A heating pad on an empty rocker isn't so bad, at least if you were decently drowsy when someone moved you.
I prefer to think of myself as older, not old. Vanity probably. Your profile says 25. Is that a typo or early stages of Alzheimers?

Hey GW, there doesn't seem to be a response to the rally cry.
I'd stay and fight, but as much as I hate to say it, it looks like the gerontocrats have slipped quietly away. If it's just you, and half of me, that's not much of an empire. Snark is setting up a new Twilight of the Arnor empire and I am going to go over there. I'd sincerely like to invite you to come along. I know you don't want to give up on the gerontocrats, and I don't either, but it sure looks like no one is home. I'm pretty fired up about the new TA empire and I think it will be fun and exciting there. Why don't you come over there with us for awhile....if anyone does show up here we can always come back. I'm going to wander over to the Twilight Pub for awhile until someone does show up here and I'd like you to come on down and here a beer and a TA game with us.
Not sure where you're getting that , I just posted a game 2 days ago.
Sorry Cap'n...is there a way to tell how many games an empire has posted in a certain time frame? I meant, regards the lack of response to the rally cry, that I made a post here last week asking if there were any Gerontocrats awake and would they like to sally forth in a grand charge. GW was the only one who responded until your post. Please understand I like the Gerontocracy! I'm just trying to discover who is active within it. If there is a way to determine what games are being posted to the empire that would help tremendously.
There's a way to tell how many games an empire has posted within a certain timeframe such as a month or year. It's limited, but it can give you basic information like that.
Go to the Altmeta. Scroll down to the empire list and click the empire that you're interested in. A graph will pop up. On the X-Axis, choose one month and click on update graph.
Count the dots and you'll have the number of games posted in a month. From this, I count 4 games total for one month in The Gerontocracy. Like I said, it's limited.
Gentlemen, the Gen'ral is proud to annouce a 297k point game completed for the Gerontocracy!
clanlindsey. Congratulations.[e digicons]:karma:[/e]
I posted a 66k game on the 24th March...I think. It takes me about a month to complete a game, but I still play.
Nice to meet you Embird! Well, that's four of us at least.
It's nice to meet you too.
You are not one of our founding members. What made you take pity on us and help boost our rankings ?
Are you looking for another challenge? Your prescence may stirr up some other members into activity.
I tend to lie to web forms at commercial sites because I loathe how well the marketing industry knows me. My 'online age' ranges up to about a century, and I'm not sure how young my 'youngest' self might be. I was born in the middle of the '60s.
The 'old farts' talk is Gerontocrat chatter, possibly enhanced by the fact that I've tended to like older folks more than folks my own age or younger as far back as age 6 or so. Which is not to say that I have never met a Born Curmudgeon who was born well after I was.
p.s. to the empire at large: If you haven't bookmarked our AltMeta page, you should. No disrespect to Stardock, but I find it a far easier way to check on MV data than the official site. Except when the update cycle gets colicky, which doesn't seem to happen very often. The default view actually gives the 'recent games' info because the latest entries are farthest to the right. You can point to a dot on the graph to show a ScreenTip the game date, score, & other details.
