Well, I think I've figured out this crazy contraption. The empire is set to Invite-only, by accident or design, at the moment, correct? If so, my invite got black-holed because the Email provider I used back when I made this account suspended all Email services quite some time ago. Time to finally bother the fellows about that at support@stardock.com...

If the Gerontocracy is set up as Invite Only or Moderated; I believe that anyone with Senator status can send out Invites; and I know for sure that in Moderated, that a Senator can approve/deny the application process.
Since you are a Senator in the Gerontocracy, GW Swicord, you should be able to check all this out yourself in the Metaverse, My Empire, screens.
EDIT: After doing some testing, it seems to be a holdover effect from the MV empires not updating; as I clicked "Leave Empire" and yet still remained a member of the Kzinti (I was trying to see if I was able to join, for testing purposes, the Gerontocracy- I'm not THAT old yet )
I know Kryo was made aware of the MV empire bug today and was gonna drop a line to one of the devs at some point.
And the good Mr. Marquis pulls through to get my Email info up-to-date. Not only that, but some fellow finally managed to get the paperwork filed, so I am now proudly an official member of the Gerontocracy!

Sliverbeacher, can you by any chance give a specific click path that I'd follow to find this "My Empire" that is actually the Gerontocrats?
The only page with that sort of name that I can find just offers to let me create a new empire, not work with any 'senatorial' powers.
It seeems to be a moot point so far as InfernalRS goes, but I'm still curious to see this mysterious UI context that I've heard about for so long...
I'm back. After taking two weeks off for the holidays, and the other six getting my butt kicked as the newfangled Thalians, I finally was able to post a victory tonight. Sure it was under 7,500 pts., since it was an alliance victory and took 13yrs., but a win's a win. It'll probably look better on AltMeta...
Anyways, I finally earned my Racial Victory Medal. Yay me!

It took us awhile to find the empire, 'bout 400 years or so, but our eyes don't always work so well, the black powder burns and all, ya know....however our Nightmare Torpedoes are fully up-to-snuff, and we have lots of leftover Civil War armaments to make things interesting for those mangy, flea-bitten Kzinti hair-balls. Welcome aboard, clanlindsey. As you noticed, we couldn't turn you away if we wanted to. More importantly, we desperately need butts in rockers on the front porch to help make sure someone's awake to holler when the rotten kids try cutting across the lawn.
And, yes, the Kzinti do need some larnin' about their proper place in the world. Eventually, they all end up in a lap somewhere. All that showy ferocity is just foreplay aimed at scoring the love of someone who'll sit still for long spans, preferably under a nice blankie of some sort. They will come to us in the end, and they'll like it.

Fine by me, as long as "Clansmen" is not a reference to the KKK (i.e, "Klansmen"). AFAIK, "The Great War of Northern Aggression" is what the Confederates called the Civil War, and many in the South who are still bitter about it continue to refer to it that way.
I am not particularly political on these forums. I am not especially liberal or politically correct, and I have dear relatives in Georgia. I understand the states rights position (although one could also call the Civil War "The Great War of Southern Intransigience"). Still, as much as this empire could use a hand, I gotta ask....

Clansmen is for Clan Lindsey a fine Scottish family, and I just like old fashion names and images. I'm a major history and mythology buff. I have this cool image of John Brown (the abolitionist) I want to use as my avatar.....ergo the civil war motif. I always thought the phrase "the Great War of Northern Aggression" was pretty funny, but I like your "Great War of Southern Intransigence" too, lol.
Don't freak, like I said, I'm using the most famous abolitionist as my Avatar and thought of naming my character "John the Revelator" but then thought Jebediah Stormcrow was too cool a name not to use. Besides, John the Revelator might worry you into thinking iIm a religious inut nstead of a rascist! John Brown is a major hero in my book, so I lean towards abolitionists not the KKK....
BTW, how do I get my John Brown image to show here?
