Good job guys. Too bad you can't smack spleeze and wake him up, he'd be a great addition to your ship design team judging by the shots of the ships he has modded. Are you going to make seperate tech trees or just update the tech tree a little?

Spleeze ships are awesome! I think they really inspired part of the team ,they did atleast for me, but last I heard he's still very busy and hasnt' got the polys down, these poly's will be much lower for a more stable game - and yes a completely seperate tech trees are being worked out....and hmm I think i got the wall paper at www.3d-passion.com, some cool stuff there in their 3d section....currently i'm having a problem with converting these ships correctly, I got the method down but one of the programs i'm using is causing the ships to only be able to hold 1 weapon/propulsion/defense, and well that just plain sucks! But Han is helping me out and his all work fine so i'm sure we'll both be putting out tons o ships soon.

hehe, wait until they see whats coming out today - but i think after i put these next ships out i may hold back on most of them for the mod

Awesome job all around. I would like to make a suggestion though, the mod launch window the name is "Doom of the Federation" Sounds a bit cheesy, no offense, perhaps change it to something not so race specific, maybe "The final conflict" or something, I know that sounds cheesy too but just thought I'd make the suggestion. Also, what races are you planning on entering the game? Fed, Klingon, Romulan, Borg, thats 4, any ideas on any others? Hopefully the Dominion/Cards will make it in. Damn, I wish I knew how to model the ships into the game lol. I think I might get the free trial of 3dmax and see if I can figure it out lol

If you are interested in not messing up your ships with how the hard points are placed, please use the

Ultimate Design Freedom Mod (UDFM) by Rasori - Its in the Gal Civ 2 website downloads sections and can be used with these ships and any/most other mods. I've put in a reques to him to include the files (there isn't many) in with the ships, but will not do so with out the okay. This is mentioned in the README files also. If I get the okay, i'll edit the above post saying so!

What about Cardasian,they are not mentioned...its been some time since i have seen the show and i havent seen last seasons of DS9 and Voyager.Werent they Major power at some time?I think they look cool,bit ugly ships though...

Well what kind of storyline would anyone else want to see? I mean, your not making a campaign or scenarios are you? So it will basically just be sandbox mode, I would guess the story should be something like this, 3 years after the dominion war, a borg planet is discovered on the edge of explored space. The UFP has had several major members leave (goes into why their minors. Feds mobilize to attack the borg, the Romulans, who have since allied(not so much a alliance as much as sharing some info, tech trading, just basic thing) themselves with the Cards and the Ferengi in a effort to oppose the fed-klingon alliance see this as a oppurtunity to make a premptive strike on several key fed worlds. Back by the Ferengi and Cards they make some good progress, causing several more fed members to leave, the klingons join in the fight. Meanwhile, the Rom-Fer alliance is eventually brought down since it was basically the roms who took planets and the fer are angry they weren't given any of the spoils. Things are further complicated by the arrival of a massive dominion fleet into the alpha quadrant. They immediatly seize bajor and several card border worlds. So now the dom and cards-Roms are at war, the ferengi are basically neutral, they make peace with all major civs and plot the invasion of many of the feds member planets that left (minors). Fed-Klingon are engaged on two fronts with the borg and the romulans. Rom-Cards and engaged with the Feds-klingo and the dominion between them. Things are even further complicated when the fed task force arrive at the borg colony world to find a massive borg-8472 fleets engaged in a battle. (voyager hasn't arrived yet) So the Fed are unsure of what to do, before deciding on a course of action a 8472 ship accidentally fires on a fed causing the feds-borg-8472 into a giant battle. Long read I know, but this is just my take on it. It really prob wont matter what kind of story it has since more then likely you'll start out too small to really think of yourself as one of these major empires that spans hundreds of star systems.
