Your Stardock.net account is used here by the forums, in Stardock Central, on other Stardock sites, and also to manage your Metaverse characters. "One account to rule them all."
Your account can have up to THREE characters tied to it. Most people will have only 1 but this way, if you have multiple people in your family playing the game (my son plays for instance) they can use a character.
If you've already pre-loaded, you should be able to go to the Metaverse and Manager Characters. You will need your serial # to create another character.
If you have any problems, let us know.
If your empire doesn't have a website URL associated with it, the game thinks the empire data isn't valid and therefore thinks you're not in an empire. Your submitted games are being credited to your empire, though; it's purely a problem with the in-game display of empire information. This is a bug that will be fixed in the next update.
Unfortunately, there's no easy way to determine whether a particular game was flagged erroneously or not. So you'll just have to live with it. The good news is that the latest update should have fixed these problems.
Heh, I should have been more specific: We need the lines that follow the RPC error code line. Specifically, contents of the Data tag.
All new games you submit should be fine, for any character. The serial numbers you have are encoded, as they decode they all point to the same registration so everything is good!
Whats happening here is that certain in game conditions will alter the difficulty level (actually the race intelligence) which affects the end result difficulty level. So even though you started out at Normal the race intelligence caused the difficultly level to rise to Challenging.
What we will be doing with the next update of GalCiv is changing the Difficultly level that is submitted to use the same index value that was used when you started the game to eliminate this confusion.
Insomniac - Special characters arent allowed in usernames any longer. Please send an email to andrew _at_ stardock.com so we can discuss changing this for you.
Snypir - It wont prevent you from doing so at the moment, no. But please email your empire information along with the correct serial number so we can change that to the correct one for you.
Heteroy - The first thing to do is to get Firefox updated with the latest version. You have to be using the latest version for the site to work correctly. The latest version is 1.5.0.1. I will investigate that error to see if it is something erroneous in the code. In the meantime please email me the serial number you are attempting to create a character with.
